Has anyone ever used these? The friend who bought Angel has one. I rode in it, and was I ever impressed. Then the people that I bought Mason from told me they ride in them.
I researched them, watched the videos, etc. I bit the bullet and ordered one today. It's a LOT of money, and I don't spend money easily. I'm hoping I like it.
If anyone here has used one, I'd love some feedback.
Here is the web site address:

I've seen the video before but I have to wonder how this saddle pad would make a difference unless you didn't have a good saddle fit? The weight of the saddle is already distributed because the panels of the tree should fit down the horse. With my Tucker there is a shock absorbing foam between those pads and the tree and the saddle fits properly. You'll have to let us know how it works out. Did you ask how long it lasts before you need to replace the plate?

thanks Terry!
Denise...you have to see it in person to believe it, maybe? I've seen it...I believe it. It was amazing. And...they don't sell these as a means to fix a saddle fit problem. It will improve your fit, but they tell you that you need to have a good fitting saddle beforehand.
When I rode Angel, I was so impressed. I even felt more balanced.
The outer pad lasts forever, but you do have to replace the inner pad every few years. I don't ride real hard, so I'm not too worried.
The thing that got me, is the saddle sits completely off of the joint in the shoulder. And it looks almost like it's just floating on the horse, but it's so secure. It's amazing. I love it.
I'll let you all know what I think once I get a chance to ride Mason in it. You get 30 days to return them, no questions asked. I can't ride on opening weekend of deer hunting, but I will ASAP.

I never put my saddle that far forward. You should always have 3 fingers width between saddle tree and shoulder so you don't impede the horses shoulder motion. When you get Mason saddled take a pic of it for me please? As for feeling it through the saddle? I have a few saddles and the only ones that I can feel the difference with are the thinner synthetics. You could put a steel plate under my Colorado, TX or Tucker and never feel a difference. Unless it's slick and slides of course.

I mean....there is no impact with the shoulder blade. ;-) I don't explain well. ;-)
We will see what I think once I get to actually saddle up with one.

Yeah I still don't understand about the shoulder blade as there should not be anything on or impacting the shoulder blade?

The pad came yesterday. It's hard to explain...it's just really interesting. Once you see one, it all makes sense. ( I saw one last weekend, and rode in one) DH thinks I will be fine riding in the barnyard later today, so that is what I'm going to do. I'll take a picture of it then, and post.
Denise...could you post a picture of Buddy saddled? I'm curious as to where you place the saddle. I do think I tend to saddle a bit forward. I've been watching the videos on the Csi Pad, and they offer one on saddle fit. It has convinced me that many people saddle too far forward.

I don't have one of Buddy but I do have one of Frisco saddled. One of the frequent mistakes people make is putting the saddle too far up on the whithers instead of on the back. If you lift the back of the saddle up and let it fall down while rocking it, it will settle most times in the right place.

Yep...good saddle placement. I did take a picture today, but on my iPhone, and can't figure out how to get it on my computer. I'm going to have DH help me with one aspect of saddling tomorrow, and then I'll take some pics with my camera.
I am having a hard time pushing the pad up into the saddle. I'm not strong enough. I think once I get it in there, it will get easier. ;-)

I have been putting my new saddle too forward. I think it's because it's so small. It's a 14", youth size show saddle. It's the saddle Mason has been ridden in for years, so it should be that hard for me to place it correctly. LOL.

Well at least you figured it out now instead of years later. Does a youth saddle come in QH or FQH bars? all I've ever seen is pony size saddles in youth. I thought about buying Sarah a youth saddle but never found one that was a med width for Boomer. Thank goodness her legs finally grew long enough to reach the stirrups. LOL

I have one, used it for years, it's wearing out so I need to replace it. Never had a problem with them and like it. Hubby got it for me as a Christmas present one year so I didn't have to pay for it ;-p I think I see another Christmas present request...

Appy...they have gone up in price! My friend bought hers a few years ago for $250. I went to look at them, and they are now $350!!! I think that's crazy high, but I really can't get over how nice they are. It really does keep the saddle off of the scapula.
Denise...this is a 14" with QH bars. It's a popular youth show saddle. The only problem is: the stirrups won't go long enough for a tall person. ;-) I have some buddy stirrups for Addy.

I ended up making my own Buddy stirrups for Sarah till she grew and she fits in the Abetta synthetic now.
