Hey SUE!!! Yes that's Sarah last summer. Her legs have finally grown enough to fit in the abetta. Last year I had to make a set of stirrups attached to nylon straps that went in the hole and connected to the horn. LOL She's built like my sister and dad, short legged.
Anyone else having trouble when you hit the reply buttons? I get a lot of failure to connect to web server or bad response from server. Been an ongoing thing and I have to keep hitting back button and the replay again but tonight it took about 6 times to post.

Thank you Mary for creating this board. Although I have not posted on JL in a long time I still like to pop in from time to time to see how old friends are doing.

She has a Troxel helmet. I don't know WHY she isn't wearing it here but my guess is that it was right after I moved back here and we had her helmet ordered. She started trail riding this fall, and has gone with me twice. No boots or no helmet means she sits in the truck/trailer till we return. Her two friends don't ride in helmets or boots but because she's not my kid but my sisters means I don't take any chances with her safety. She keeps her helmet in the horse trailer and wears her boots out to the ride.

Glad she wears a helmet & boots. Sometimes I feel like a dork for wearing a helmet, but figure there are worse things and won't ride without one.

Don't get me wrong, I still don't wear one unless my horse has a bout of the Spring CRAZIES or I'm on a green horse or a challenge. I also never made my son wear one, my husband and I both agreed that he was a good rider even from the beginning. And he was on a great horse. I don't have the right to decide my niece shouldn't and besides she really SUCKS at riding. LOL don't tell her though. She has no balance.

I always keep my helmet, gloves and riding boots in the car. You never know when you'll need to ride!
