LMM, my Mom had an all in one that she liked and a friend has the same one but with a touch screen. I wasn't able to upgrade Mom's to windows 10 from 7 but that was OK with her. It was a lot different and she didn't want to learn anything new. To her the last one that she liked was windows 98. If you backed up all your files on the external it should just be a matter of drag and drop files or you could take it all in to a computer shop and they could do it for you. I imagine you could do it yourself.
Today was a pretty good day but more wind, rain, and snow are on the way. I unhooked the waterer and insulated the faucet. Lets hope I don't have any frozen faucets this time.

At the company I work at you can't go from FT to PT unless you want to or unless you change your availability and they can't give you the hours because YOU don't want to work them. If you're flexible than they can't say well tomorrow you're going to be PT. LOL Right now a lot of holiday help has been let go, and Jan/Feb is always slow with less hours. Been that way for the whole time I've worked there. Even though I am working a few 25 hour weeks it averages up to my 32 which makes me FT. The older people only have to work 29 to be PT so they'll keep everyone averaging their hours but they may not get 40 hour wks. They've had a lot of time to prepare for this yearly ritual. And then you have RUMOR MILL at WM, I've heard a lot of dumb untruthful stuff because it goes around when they start grumbling. BTW WM and Sams my be owned by the same company but one has nothing to do with the other. Two entirely different companies. We can't even use our discount card there. We don't pull parts out of our Ford to keep the Chevy running.
LMM we're also hiring. I know there are two positions in Lawn and Garden opening. Even with the lack of hours.

I had to lock my horses in the corral tonight because Rain was standing at the fence looking over the wire and I KNEW he was thinking of how he was going to go over or under to get to it. He doesn't like the last of the RB's when there are fresh ones on the other side of the poly! So tomorrow they can go out and I can keep an eye on Rain and make sure they finish off the old RB.
Martha, my brother tried to commit suicide recently and then my cousin. They are both depressed but my brother is bipolar and won't stay on the meds. He's almost 60 and it makes me mad that he just expects everyone to coddle him and pity him while he wastes his life. He divorced his first wife and walked away from two kids says they are better off without him. The new one's given him ultimatums... Both guys have nothing but excuses. I just want to shake them both. My cousin lost twins, his wife miscarried and he uses that a lot. Of course alcohol makes it worse. It's a sore subject these days because I guess I'm just PISSED at them both. I can see that they will never get better without help and they have nothing but excuses why nothing will help. So they CHOOSE to waste their lives pissing and moaning to everyone who loves them.

Mon, -4 when I went to work at 7am and this morning 38 at 7am and when I left work at 4 it was around 50, it's supposed to be in the 60's tomorrow. WEIRD weather. Anthony bought a new computer too about three months ago. Something called a "card" went out or is going out and every once in awhile it gets lined across the whole screen and won't do anything. The company kept telling him they weren't understanding what he meant so he took a pic and sent it to him. The said OH looks like the card is going out. LOL Good luck on the computer hunt, you are getting a new one? I like DELL. LOL

A friend's son committed suicide when he was diagnosed as Bi-polar. He was a police officer and a pilot and it was the end of both careers. He left a pregnant wife and 2 other small children. DH is Bi-polar and we have to watch his meds because he has sensitivities ever since he took Chantix to quit tobacco. It really messed up his system but a lot of people committed suicide or murder due to the effects of the Chantix. Another friend has a son that is Bi-polar and the dad won't even speak to him. If he isn't on medication he ends up in jail and his dad is tired of all the trouble he causes. The medications can cause all kinds of side effects and sometimes you have to wonder which is worse. We stick with just an antidepressant because his manic episodes aren't frequent or strong. I have known rapid cycling bi-polar people and that must be a nightmare to live with.
That Rain is a trouble maker. He almost sounds like Winnie with the hay. If I ever put a RB in with her I'm pretty sure I'd find her inside the bale but still watching what's in the barn and how much I give the others. She tells me constantly that she could be in charge of the hay and do a much better job of dispensing it fairly than I do. Why have "old" hay when "fresh" hay is right there. Do you have it in a feeder or can they walk on it and waste it? We tried once to use straw for bedding but Winnie kept eating it so we have to stick with shavings. I wish I could do the RBs but I don't know how we could ever store them. We'd never get them in the barn and the ground all around it is too muddy and soft. Maybe some day at my "perfect" ranch.
The card that was going out is the graphics card. If the rest of the computer is good and something he likes it's simple to have the card replaced and maybe even upgraded. Gamers like to upgrade the graphics card so the games run better if the rest of the computer can handle it. If he's a hardcore gamer he should look into Alienware computers, they are designed for games.

The computer should be here Wednesday! It is touch screen but also comes with a keyboard & mouse. I'm sticking with HP. Had terrible luck with previous Dells. Guess it can happen no matter what brand. Way back I had a couple of Gateway computers. Back when they were still called Gateway 2000. They were actually really good but I wouldn't buy anything Gateway now. I was in South Dakota then and able to go out to where they made them & pick out what I wanted. "Good old days". I never left the house yesterday so today after church I have a couple of errands to run & then home to work on Quicken some more. Good thing I love working with numbers!

My desktop and laptop are both HP and they've been good. My Mom's desktop all in one is an HP also. My last laptop was a Toshiba and it lasted quite a while. It just got too slow because it didn't have very much memory. I really like the HPs but gamers need machines that are a lot more than I want to spend. DH has an Apple Mac but he rarely uses anything but his IPad. But he just had to have this thing. Luckily our friends wanted one with a bigger screen and sold us theirs cheap. It has a 23" screen and was only 6 months old.

Anthony had an alienware before this one. He had a lot of trouble and the support was awful. They fought over warranty issues and they postponed doing anything till the warranty was expired till Anthony threatened to go to the BBB and tell everyone on line they were screwing him over. He says alienware is made by Dell and wasn't that impressed. His two cards were $3000 each. He always upgrades whatever he gets. My mom had gateway they liked them, way back in the 90's. Now we all have Dell, not sure what Anthony has now. I did the windows 10 and HATED it, uninstalled it and went back to the 9.whatever? LOVE IT.
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired of fighting with this horse! he unties ropes with his teeth and when he can't get the knot I find it frayed/chewed. And now his new trick is to paw the ground where the step in posts are until they fall over taking the poly with them then put his head under the top strand of barbed wire and walk under it. Found him on the other side of the fence again today and there's a brand new RB where he can eat it 24/7. While I was taking down the poly so he could come back into the yard he has his head down there next to and even touching my cheek watching me untie it. I swear he's not really a horse cause he seems to have reasoning power. SHESH

Oh he's a smart bugger. Instead of poly tape try bare metal wire for the fence. We had the tape before and it seemed to lose it's strength to zap pretty quick. If you run 1 wire hot with another wire grounded either above or below the hot one it increases the zap. Just be sure there is enough space so they don't arc but close enough that he will hit both at once. That instant grounding is what does it. You may need clips on everything instead of knots. Those gates with the lever on top that moves a bar across onto a slot are useless with Sage unless you clip them too. She learned how to undo those at her last home and would let everybody out. They have a little drop down bar that fits on a pin on the gate to keep them from opening and she figured that one out too. Rain must be a mustang in disguise. He only wants what he can't have and he will go to extraordinary lengths to get it. When the guy was moving our panels for us I had him just string a wire across the pen so the horses couldn't get out while part of the fence was down. Normally they will leave any wire alone and they did good until Whitey had her head down next to the wire and someone forced her forward. She went under the wire and the guy said she moved really quick, like she was trying to minimize the shock. It wasn't hot so nothing happened but I know that Winnie will force the others to touch the wire to check it. Luckily the guy was almost finished and she just wanted the 2" of grass along the fence line that they hadn't been able to get to before. I told him not to stress about it because we only have them in so they don't leave big divots in the field and she couldn't get out of the pasture. They are never very hard to catch it's just a pain if they decide to go stand in the big puddles and you aren't wearing rubber boots.
Have Anthony check out the website newegg.com if he hasn't already. They have some good deals on there. Also geeks.com. Good luck on his hunt for a new computer. I'm glad my requirements are pretty simple for what I get. Oh, tiger.com used to be good too.

Anthony already bought one that's the one the card needs replaced on. They're supposed to send him one I guess. It only gets the lines sometimes other times it's fine but it's NEW and under warranty.
The poly isn't hooked up to the box. I put the box up because it wouldn't hold a charge. I need to charge it and then put it in an area away from the trees to see if it's worn out or not. The corner where the RB's are is all shaded by trees and I think that's why the fence doesn't zap hard enough to keep Rain from playing with the fence. If it's on he still goes over it sometimes though but I think I really need some taller step in posts because he's too tall. He was on the right side when I got home but not sure if he went over and ate off the taboo bales today or not, will know tomorrow when it's light out.

I had nothing but trouble with my solar charger. I replaced the battery 3 or 4 times before I gave up on it and bought a plug in. You can build a box to house it in out of the weather and run an extension cord to it. I'd run the cord through pvc just to protect it. Or you can install it inside and get the insulated wire to run out to the fence. It looks like coax for TVs. The solar unit would work as long as the sun was out but wouldn't charge the battery. Time to move Whitey to the upper stall. Winnie is getting really pissy and running Sage and Whitey out of the barn. Winnie bites at Sage and threatens to kick her so Sage does the same thing to Whitey. Whitey goes and hides in the farthest corner and looks wild eyed. Oh for a larger mudless area for them. It will happen this year.

I love mine, I bought it probably 8 yrs ago? put one battery in it about 2 summers ago. I like it because I can drag it all over the farm and let the horses eat the grass down by the road or back behind the barn etc... The only problem I'm having so far is where the hay is and I think it's because of the shade from the trees and then the tack shed/ and two run ins too.
Yes you'll have better ground out there this year, exciting isn't it how a horse person can be excited about DIRT! LOL
