V that's about what I'm earning in my 401 also. The first two yrs I only put in 2% and WM matches us up to 5 or 6%. Then when I went full time 6yrs ago I went to 3% and a couple yrs ago increased it to 5%. HyVee matched up to 9%, penny for penny, but matched partially for another 5%. The federal govt matches up to 3% but now the republican politicians want the matching to completely end, not sure when that is supposed to start. Price Chopper has no pension for part timers. LMM; I am already collecting my pension from the state of KS; all $400 a month. My expected actual govt retirement (I had just started CSERS so changed to FERS) is expected to be $1,000/month when I reach 63. I have to work until I'm 72 to get $1,700/month. Something my health will never allow me to do. In fact yet another dr told me just this last week I needed to stop working due to my health. But my FERS pension if I retire now would only be $7-800/month, so no way I can retire. Another 3 years before I can even begin to think about it. Can't get SS for another 3 years & that will be about $900/month due to it being early. Luckily I did change from CERS to FERS due to I found out this week that even though you can draw SS with CSERS you are penalized by SS for doing so & can only receive a % of what you would normally get. Kaw Valley has all their stuff on sale for 50% off, so went & got a lot more veggies & a few flowers. I got 3 eggplants that actually already have eggplants on them! I got honeydew melons, cucumbers, butternut & acorn squash...things I like but I don't buy until they go on sale. My pepper plants are all producing & my tomato plants are getting huge but no flowers yet. I'm thinking about stopping direct tv; although I would miss the movies I find no tv show I actually like. Right now I have the mystery movies on Hallmark set to record: Flower Shop, Garage Sale, Haley Dean, Aurora Teagarden, Morning Show, Emma Fielding, Murder She Baked & Gourmet Detective movies. Except for the occasional SciFi movie that is about all I watch now. I found some old stocks so took them to a broker; they tried to get them set up but I must have gotten them set up sometime before as they weren't any good. Company is a good company, still around, so I assume I got them set up & sold them already (they were really old). They've been trying to send them back to me via UPS, but around here UPS only works from 4pm-8pm M-F. Told the company they needed to get them back & either mail them to my POB or to the local stock company I went through as no way can they deliver to me during those hours & no way I can go pick them up during these hours!

V, Yeah that's why I couldn't take early SS at 62. They would have counted my CS pension in the amount I'm allowed to make & would have taken back $1. SS for every $2. of my income. Oh well, only about 1 1/2 years to go for full SS. Then again, maybe I'll just work until I die. No hobbies really so I would just be sitting around anyway. I stopped at ACE Hardware after work yesterday. I had been getting raw, unfiltered honey at the feed store when I would pick up Risty's supplements. ACE is closer & they carry the same, local honey. I like the Desert Blend-supposed to be good for allergies and the Cinnamon Blend is awesome on toast. Going to try a little of one or both of them in my coffee-which I usually drink unsweetened. Have to see if I like it with a little bit of sweetness in it. Have any of you tried the Real Good brand of frozen pizza? They are low carb, gluten free (but kind of expensive) I get them at either Fry's or WalMart. Taste pretty good.

Honey is really good for allergies if it comes from your area. Here the Amish harvest honey from our neighborhood and Anthony puts it in his coffee for allergies. I heard it should come from within 20 miles to be best.
We buy Red Baron but I like the one that has the rising crust, begins with an F? have not heard of the gluton free I'll have to tell mom about them. They are back on the gluton free diet.
Direct used to have more on but lately it's almost all either OLD sitcoms or cop shows. There's two new ones I've never heard of before. Real Vice Cops and San ? Sheriffs. Anthony has that thing on his phone where he can watch movies and rarely watches tv, which I pay extra to have in his room.
The new charger is keeping Rain in, matter of fact after three days down below with the new charger I put up just a poly line up here between the corral and house and he never tried to go over or under it. His new trick is getting the fly masks stuck on the fence and backing out of them. UGH Today I bought him one without ears so we'll see if it lasts longer. Between him and Boomer they've already gone through three new masks so far and it's not even summer yet.

It is so hot here this weekend; upper 90's with heat index in the hundreds. Wanted to ride Marie a little this morning, I got a rare weekend off work, but it was already too hot by the time I cleaned her pen, re-bedded her lean to & brushed her. I put her bridle on, led her to the mounting block & she lined herself up perfectly for me to jump on but then I realized I was so hot I was actually weaving while I was standing there. I decided I better not ride & lead Marie back to her pen. Poor Marie was like "Mom, I thought we were going somewhere!" & she kept gaiting faster, moving in front of me & tried to herd me back to the mounting block.
They are offering OT at my full time job! That seldom happens in my area. It is supposed to last until at least Sept. so I had to tell my manager at my part time job that I needed to change my hours to just Sat/Sun...after finally getting my Sat's off. If it allows me to pay off my credit cards I might be able to quit my part time job though, will try to keep up my p/t hours & work the OT at my f/t job.

Wow V, the weather is almost as bad as AZ! We had a nice rain this morning, it's still cloudy & kind of drizzling. Don't keep working yourself so hard, you need to relax (I know, there are bills to be paid). Just realized June is 1/2 gone & we are still in the May Coop. Might as well wait & start a new one in July?

We could always go with Chicken Coop 2018! 2019...
I am going to buy 6-8 of the solar lights you push into the ground and mount them on top of my round pen so I can ride 8-9 o'clock when it starts cooling off. It's just too dang hard to get up to ride before 8am. 96' tomorrow too and even when it rains it stays hot.

Wow, our weather has been nothing like yours. We had some warm weather but we actually had to turn on the heat the last 2 days. We used up our last bag of pellets so we had to use the furnace. We could buy more pellets but didn’t want to go to that much trouble. Since the furnace is a heat pump and the outside temp was fairly mild it is fairly economical to run the heat. I hate having to change from A/C to heat and back every day. Thunderstorms moved through too and they dropped the temperature about 10*. Crazy weather.

Here they're saying how weird it Is that it's gone from winter directly into summer temps! Starting tomorrow we have a week of rain and some cool offs coming but I"m not even contemplating riding with the temps and rain. My RP is so pretty with all the lights around it but they don't actually give off enough light to matter. Maybe some bigger ones?

GR I think you might need some flood lights. They would need to be up higher than the top of your head when you are mounted. I bought a solar security light that is automatic from Harbor Freight but don’t waste your money. It is way too dim for anything except not running into the house in the dark. Costco has some good solar security lights but the secret to solar lighting is in the storage batteries. The small solar lights like the ones for walkways and patios have small rechargeable batteries the size of a AA battery. That tells you how much light you can expect to get from them. If you had some 12 volt lights you could run them off a deep cycle battery and a solar panel. We learned the real story on solar from friends who had a house that was off the grid. They had 6 large panels with a bank of about 6 to 8 special batteries ($1000 each) and still had to run their generator almost every day. They had propane heat, water heater, dryer, and cooking. They only ran the water pump for a few hours a week to fill a storage tank. It isn’t what it’s cracked up to be.
It looks like we will finally get our new RP panels soon. It’s really hard without one. We also have some repairs to get done on the house. Way past time for them.

“To all my Facebook friends. If you support in any small way the "policy" that is separating (spelled correctly) of children from families at the Southern Border mandated by the wannabe Dick-tator in the White House, UNFRIEND ME NOW! I do not want your opinions, your thoughts or your so called "it's the law" argument defending this obscene travesty "commanded" by the "leader" of a nation that has the Statue of Liberty at its front door.”
This was recently posted by one of my FB friends. She, herself, is an immigrant (from the UK) although she did it legally. At first I responded that I am trying not to make comments no matter what I believe. After thinking about it I decided-heck no! I will “like” posts “share” posts and comment on what I believe in. My opinions & I am entitled to them! I will not be unfriending her, but she has every right to unfriend me. I try not to pass judgement on those who don’t share my political and religious beliefs (she is at the top of that list). We used to be good friends, rode together, our horses were boarded next to each other, etc. I was one of the few (16 years ago) she trusted with sharing her beliefs (Pagan) as she knew I wouldn’t blab to others or look down on her for what she did or didn’t believe. I’m going to keep on keeping on. 😊

HS check out the prices of panels at TSC, they were about 1/3 of what I paid. I'm going to go buy one with the gate in it next. I think Hard ware may have a solar light like a spot light for cheap. Need to have the time to look on line first.
LMM My friends better never say that to me or they'll be exfriends! LOL what nerve.
Got a prayer request. 1. my best friend in WY had a heart attack, it's pretty serious. She was flown to SLC and it's not looking well. Her name is Sharon. This is the friend who I go camping with in Aug every year. 2. Our friend who lives in St. Louis, who went to school with Sharon and goes with us to the Womens camp and ride. Her name is Terry. Her breast cancer was gone less than a year ago, now they found out it's in her bones and liver. They totally missed it.
And I saw a post on FB from Devo (JL's friend) her young niece has a mass in her fibula. Please say a prayer when you see this and pass it on to your prayer list partners. Thank You.

We don’t have TSC anywhere near us. I wish we did. We have a Coastal Farm and Ranch Supply that used to be really good. When it was Big R they seemed to have everything. Ever since they were bought by Coastal they seem to not carry as many items. Also the employees don’t seem to know a lot. We asked about panels and the girl running the customer service desk could give us prices but had no way to show us what they looked like and what fasteners they had. They used to have a book with pictures of that kind of stuff but she said they didn’t have it anymore. We also asked about a PTO driven mower and the mower guy said they didn’t carry them. Then we spoke to an employee we knew had worked there for a long time. Yes, they carry the mower but we didn’t have the brand name so the first guy didn’t know what we meant. A PTO driven field mower you pull behind a tractor. How hard is that to understand? I don’t care if it’s Brush Hog or King Kutter, it’s still the same thing. Then he took us over to customer service and pulled out the picture book for the panels. The one they DON’T have anymore. If we hadn’t pushed and talked to the other guy they would have lost a pretty big sale, over $3000. We have to figure out if we can pick it all up or need to have it delivered. They only have free delivery in a 15 mile radius of the store which leaves out just about everyone who shops there. There seems to be so many people with cancer now. One of the men in town thought he had broken a rib and went to the ER. They x-rayed his chest and he did have a broken rib but they also saw a mass. They did a CAT scan and found stage 4 small cell lung cancer that has metastasized to his bones and lymph nodes. They did 3 chemo treatments and he is home now. They are going to be using Rick Simpson oil (RSO) to treat him at home. There is a woman near us that has cured her stage 4 lung cancer and staying clear for 3 or 4 years now. Her husband had died of the same thing about 6 months before her diagnosis. He only lasted a month after his. The RSO is refined from marijuana and her son makes all of hers. The guy is getting his from one of the dispensaries locally. His application for a medical card was rushed through so he can get stronger stuff than recreational buyers. Cancer and cannabinoids are not compatible. I hope your WY friend recovers. Women have different symptoms of heart attacks than men but many don’t know it. They don’t get checked out for it because it isn’t like all the commercials show. They seem to be worse than men’s because everyone knows what to watch for and they seek care sooner which improves their chances.
