V is retirement still on the table? I sure wish I could afford it. My animals keeps me working! Diesel's vet visit for his "grass allergies" was $75 today. one steroid shot and a months supply of oppoquel.
Anthony's surgery went well. He'll be in healing about 4months. It's amazing what they can do. He got a unit put in his back, they carve out a hole and fit the box into it. Put electrodes into the spine and to charge the box he puts on a waist band that has the charger in it and it charges it through the skin and all. We didn't leave the hospital till 3 yesterday.
I found the wasp nest in the tack shed and killed most of the wasps and took down the hive. UGH
HS, do they have any of the fire under control yet? is the house pretty smokey? I assume the smoke would go in any little hole and make it aweful.

GR, you should check out this site for your pet meds. link they have good prices and will contact your vet for the prescription. I wish they had horse stuff too but it all seems to be dog and cat. We’ve got plenty of both of those too. Most of the fires are nearing containment, but there are dry lightning thunderstorms that go through and start new ones. Now we are also getting smoke from Washington and British Columbia. There are very few areas that don’t have at least moderate air quality around here right now. The smoke does keep the temperature down a little since the sun isn’t beating down but it isn’t by much. The house stays pretty good, at least as far as I can tell. It doesn’t smell too bad even outside but maybe I’m just used to it now. We don’t open the windows or doors any more than necessary. I changed the A/C filter today and it was pretty bad. It’s only one month in on a three month filter. We thought about getting an air purifier but we would need one for almost every room because they work on such a small area. The house is a very open plan besides being so large. After reading up on them it would need to be a HEPA filter and not an ionizer or ozone pump to be effective and healthy. I think we are going up to the lake tomorrow and hoping for some clearer air. From everything I’ve seen it probably won’t be but DH is already complaining again about the air.

Did you get to enjoy the lake or was it smokey? I saw today that Wheatland Wy is burning. There's nothing out there but prairie so that was surprising unless it's up in the mountains. They are supposed to evacuate Green Mnt too and that is outside where I grew up in Jeffrey City. I'm not sure why since it's a long way from Wheatland.
Anthony had a post surgery apt in Springfield this morn. I had to change days off with another girl to take him. He can't bend, lift or twist and turn for two more months so the body can adhere(grow around) the probes so they can't move. He is in good spirits it's working really well. He's a bit afraid of touching the electric fence like he used to do. lol
Mom called me this week, maybe wed or thur to let me know Rain was out. Anthony showed me my mistake. They have these handles with hooks and they're called gates so I stuck the "gate" hook onto the fence and it ground it out. I got out my check thingy and it is showing it's charging at 7,000, it's the highest setting on there I have. I checked it in two places to make sure it's working and the gate bit me too so all three ends of the fence are biting. I think maybe I'm supposed to keep my fingers on the rubber strips of the gate thing.
Our grass is GROWING! we've got rain and 90-100' weather followed by more rain and more sun. I've got them shut out of the all grass pasture and it's almost knee deep. I was told once that at the end of the summer if you let the grass grow it'll reseed itself. Any one know if that's true??

My vet doesn't like to do prescripts with online places she doesn't know that's why they special order Buddy's eyedrops for me.

We have had a few days of clear air and it’s been wonderful. Today we took the girls up the mountain to the horse trails for a ride. I rode Winnie and DH rode Whitey. It’s been almost a year since Whitey had been ridden and we still don’t have a RP to work her in. Somewhere along the way someone must have switched horses on us because my nervous Nellie was calm, cool, and collected. She didn’t snort, prance, dance, or jig. She dropped her head, walked along and almost fell asleep she was so relaxed. She even negotiated a log that had fallen across the trail. It was knee high and after studying it for a minute or so stepped carefully over it. We have never put her at an obstacle like that before and I thought she might try to jump it. Her hesitation was only while she figured out the best places to step. In fact she put Winnie to shame on going where you asked. For some reason Winnie was very hesitant to load back in the trailer to go home. Whitey has no problem loading unless you count being eager as a problem. Smoke is supposed to be coming back so I’m glad we got to go today.
