Good point, HS. There isn't any rubber around the top of the stirrup, but there is a piece of suede over the top of the stirrup that moves freely. The stirrup leathers might have a 'keeper' that I can slide down close to the stirrups as well, to hold them in place. I'll have to see once I get them. DH is doing our taxes right now, so I will be ordering what I need once our refund comes in

It's official, I bought my first "new" tack. Found a Courbette bridle that I really liked for the horse I hope to get (Courbette was recently bought out by Stubben so some really good prices out there for English bridles). It's crazy expensive to keep horses in Maryland but if I can find a few hundred $$$ more a month for boarding or for the many "oops" problems that horses are so good at finding, the owner will give me a Paso Fino (pictured in my avatar). Already paying for feed, farrier, shots, and tests for the horse. Getting close to taking the plunge but not quite there yet.

Congrats on the first of MANY purchases. I haven't found a bridle that OOHS me but the horse fest is Sat and there is bound to be something that matches my new reins.

Good for you, Kirk! It's so neat when something just jumps out at you, and you're able to get it.
I hope everything works out so that you can get your beautiful horse!
