Just wanted to pass this off to you all. If you text or have a tablet you can be causing many health problems. Cyndi do you have a show called "The Doctors" there? it's 4 doctors who discuss different problems we face.
Yesterday they were talking about the way your body has a curve in the spine and when you text or are using a tablet you bend over the device. It is cutting off your air when you exhale and causing monoxide? poisoning, too much monoxide or maybe it's dioxide? and not enough oxygen. It's causing breathing and heart diseases besides different spine troubles.
If you are using a tablet put a few books on the table and sit it up on the books, if you are texting bring the device up so you're not bent over and text.

Also according to Cherly Crow she attributes her cancer to drinking water bottles that are left in her vehicle. The sun causes some reaction to the water when it's left in the vehicle which causes cancer. I never heard that but it was on the news a couple days ago. I always leave water bottles in both trucks and in the door of my horse trailer. Who doesn't have water bottles in their trailer or truck for when we go riding at a park or friends??? Don't know if being left in a horse trailer is the same but I won't be leaving them in the trucks anymore.

Didn't know that about the tablets and texting. If I don't have my tablet on my lap, I am usually holding it up fairly high - same with my cell phone when I text - because my glasses are fairly narrow, and I can't see well under my lenses, so I have to keep the phone up higher so I can see it. lol
The problem is not leaving water bottles in the car in general, it's what type of water bottle you use. Plastic water bottles will leach chemicals when they get hot in a vehicle. I've never heard of a problem with glass water bottles. I've also heard that you shouldn't put plastic water bottles in the freezer because of leaching, too.

EW I do that too! is there glass water bottles? we buy all plastic water bottles. Don't know if I've seen glass ones. And yes it's a chemical reaction inside a plastic bottle. I wonder if that's the same as leaving your plastic cup of water in the car? and how long do you have to leave it in the car to make it dangerous? I take a tumbler of ice water with me whenever I go to town, we go inside here and there and I drink my water all morning.
I'm safe when it comes to tablets and texting, I don't do either but the water bottles I'm very guilty of.

I very seldom text and when I use my tablet I usually hold it like a book, out in front of me. I see all those kids hunched over their stuff and I've always thought that couldn't be good for you. We buy the small bottles of water too and I think they have started to make them without the chemical( I think it's PCB). We also have some anodized aluminum water bottles and Nalgene bottles too. It's not the water that is the problem, it is the container and the fluxuating temps in a vehicle.

I stopped using the disposable water bottles a few years ago. I buy either stainless steel or the rigid plastic bottles. Yeah, they have to be washed, but I'd rather do that that add to the landfills. I try not to leave them in my vehicle, mostly because the water gets to warm here if left in a vehicle for very long.

I spent $35 on a water bottle for my son (and then he bought DH one for Christmas or his birthday because he liked his so much), but it is AMAZING!!! It keeps cold water cold for 24 hours, and it keeps hot liquids hot for 12 hours. The Canadian women's beach volleyball team uses these water bottles. I bought them at a health food store. They are made by "S'well". www.swellbottle.com/shop/ All we had to choose from was silver, gold, blue or red. They make some really cool ones now! They really do work, even in hot weather.

I wouldn't like it because it doesn't hold much and I'd have to fill it up too often. I like a 32 oz reusable cup. I have a Bubba one that holds 32 oz, I need to get it out and use it. It's too bad that Blue shimmer one doesn't come in 32 oz I like that one and the pink one too.
