This year and last year I have received an agriculture survey from the USDA. I feel rather silly sending it in for my 3 horses and 1 goat on 6 acres of pasture but it is required( they even called last year when it was late). Does anyone else get this? Is it because we are zoned exclusive farm use? We don't file as a farm on taxes or anything like that so I'm not sure why we get this. I would be interested to know if anyone has had this before or is this something new.

Yes, we got it this year and my dh filled it out....he too felt pretty silly! We have just the two horses (5 cats, 1 dog too) and only 4-5 acres of pasture. I think this was the first year we got it, here in WI.

We have to claim the horses and any building including the coop on our personal property taxes because the horses are "livestock" and the coop is one of the buildings on the property but I was surprised about the horses. I am not sure but seems like it does say something about USDA?

I got it one year and, although I owned Specks, he didn't live with me. He can't live with me because I don't have enough land under the local zoning. I don't know where they got the idea that I lived on a farm, but they did.
Anyway, if Specks did live with me it wouldn't be in no stinkin' barn, he'd curl up with me in the bedroom...
