Maybe the mom will invite you to ride with her when the daughter is in school? might be a good thing for both of you. I loved our tues morning rides at the corrals when us girls rode then went to lunch. Maybe you should ask her if she's interested? so many people have a hard time finding someone who likes horses (other than their kid) to ride with and hang out with.
HS we have three towns close together here and a swap online for each all linked together. It's really great to sell your items or "looking for something" inquiries. Maybe you should start one? Great way to make money too. I sold a few old horse things, took 1/2 a day. That's great that you had friends who needed the washer and dryer. I think we're going to have to replace our washer, the hot doesn't work. Not sure why but by the time you take it in to be fixed you might as well by a good used one online or a new one at Lowes. I have almost all dark clothes so it's not vital yet.
They did the check it out and in with your badge, can tell who was signed in etc.. but then they kind of quit making people turn them in with a threat of being written up and got new machines and now we don't even have enough machines for all departments. Yesterday they fixed the cubbies so anyone in the dept you're job code is can get the TC70 and printer out, but only the one designated to that department. So we all have to share. So you stand around looking for things to do till the other person or other two people are done using it. They have more on order but rumor is we're not approved for more. Bad thing is the young guy in our dept opened and checked out the machines then went to go bin and took them with for an hour and a half so our dept didn't even have the help then he went to zone groceries and took it again. Finally he clocked out at 5 and Donnie went and got them so we could use them. If you don't want to work they're making it really easy!!!
Always nice to have someone to help you, I've always had a DH or family. Can't imagine not having them. It's nice that you can help her out, you're building crowns in heaven you know?
I saw on FB you haven't been feeling well. Do you have Fibro or something else? I can't imagine always being in pain gotta be hard but I share the worn out can't pull myself out of the bed feeling. There are things that "trigger" my clusters. I don't have them nearly as bad as I used to before I had Matt but there are some things I can't have. One of them is vitamins because they have vitamin C or citric acid in them. So I take them for a week, start getting headaches and have to stop, wait a month till I'm so worn out I start all over. It's frustrating because I know I'd like my job so much better if I didn't feel like I needed to close my eyes and take a nap all day long. Someday I will no longer be tired and I will no longer have pain. This is only a stage stop in my travel north! LOL
Did add you to our prayer list today, so I am faithful that Jesus will see you through.
I'm going to start putting Buddy in at night so he hopefull will lose some weight over winter and help his arthritis...crossing fingers because that horse gains if he even smells food.

Thank you GR, I do have fibro. It seems like weather changes are some of the worst times and it doesn't matter if the weather is changing to good or bad. It may have to do with the barometric pressure. Stress doesn't help and I feel so stressed all the time because I can't seem to be able to get everything done that I feel I should. Didn't get hay this weekend because DH didn't call about getting help. I don't know when the next dry weekend will be. We also need to get more pellets for the stove but we have been doing 10 bags at a time. Would love to get 2 tons but again need help unloading 100 bags. The cold water on my old washer was barely trickling and I thought it was a goner and that's why we looked at new ones. Turned out the filter screen in the inlet was just clogged with sediment. It worked perfectly after I took it out and cleaned it. I would so like a sediment filter at least on our well. I may put one in where the old hook up with a bypass was for a water softener. It quit working shortly after we moved in and DH didn't want to mess with one so it's just been on bypass for years. You might try unhooking the hot water hose from the washer and seeing if the water works. If it does you might just have a clogged screen too. It was easy to pull out and clean. You can even replace some of them with the ones from the garden center for hoses and sprinklers. It's official, I'm at war. With the squirrels. They are everywhere and into everything. I got a squirrel trap that can hold multiple squirrels. I'm going to take them far away and let them go and hope I get home before they do. Maybe I can get some gophers too.

GR, Working 5 days a week kind of limits when I can ride during the daytime. I've just really lost the desire to ride anyway. I sometimes have balance issues just walking & being on a horse probably isn't the smartest thing for me to do. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow since I fell getting on Risty. Still really bruised, but walking a little better & not so painful getting in & out of the car. Did your Mom decide on an electric pressure cooker? I use mine 1 or 2 times a week (yeah, even cooking just for myself) and I love it! I've ordered some accessories from Amazon and there are a couple more I want to get. I got a springform pan that will fit inside it and want to try making a cheesecake! HS, I can't imagine having Fibro. I know the toll stress can take on people & must be worse if you are fighting something in addition to stress!

I need all our squirrels to pick up the black walnuts, there are a ton this year. UGH BP kills my tendons under my left knee!
UPS delivered it tonight, mom's reading the book. We got the 8QT too. How does she find the Instant Pot discussion group? she's going to need help. Lol If you can add her on FB her name is Colleen Staley. Do you see her posts on my wall? I just want her to make Yogurt don't care about anything else.
Rode after work and Rain was much better but when we returned to the RP to unsaddle and he realized we were going to lunge he started rubbing and being sweet...didn't help we still did ten minutes and he was great. He needs the lunging.
Totally understand the bruises. And seems like I'm always getting hurt toes, ankles, thighs, etc

We have a lawn sweeper that pulls behind a riding mower or atv. It has a big rotating brush that picks up leaves or trimmings and there is a bag behind it that they go into. You might need the thing they drive around on a golf course driving range to pick up all the golf balls. My squirrel trap caught a skunk! I left the trap out over night and we found this skunk today. I didn't think a skunk would fit in the opening, it's pretty small. The trap is only about 4" high and it can't lift it's tail. I'm going to ask one of the neighbors to shoot it tomorrow. If they won't do it I'll have to but I don't want to. I can't think of a way to get him out that ends well for me.

GR, I sent her a friend request & also sent a request to Instant Pot Community to add her to the group. She should hear something on that from one of the administrators. The last time I checked I think there were of 500,000. members of the group. That's funny about Rain becoming so sweet in the RP. Horses sure are not stupid!
HS, I don't think I would be able to shoot the skunk either, but would sure want it gone!

Thank you LMM I told her to look for it. She's excited to start using it.
Can you somehow hook it open and back up while it escapes? Of course I'd take it down the road 5 miles first!

DH covered the trap with a plastic sheet and opened the top of the trap. The skunk was pretty tired and didn't come out right away so we just left it with the top open. He eventually left and I moved the trap. I won't be leaving it out overnight again. That skunk will probably never go near wire or sweet goat feed again. I'm glad we didn't have to shoot it. They do a lot of good but I would rather they did it somewhere else. I wonder if it's the same skunk we had this spring dancing in the front yard? It started raining this afternoon. I had hoped to finish dragging the pastures but I couldn't get the tractor started this morning. It gets real finicky about being in neutral to start. Even though it shows it in neutral it apparently doesn't quite make the connection on the switch. We plan on over seeding the pasture hoping to improve the grass.

Hi everyone! Finally getting over the colitis. I still have some spasms in my abs but feel a lot better. While recovering I was on steroids for the 1st time, man what a hormone rush. One moment I'd be crying & thinking I'd never be ok & then I be angry & frustrated. Now that I'm off them I feel much better! In talks with a local MFT person to breed Marie to her stallion. He is a really sweet palomino, really quiet & well gaited. Hopefully I can get Marie over there in the next 2 weeks so we can have an Oct baby.

I posted a couple nights ago but this site was screwy then it wouldn't let me log in at all when I tried to go out and come back in later. V, do you have a site the sire is advertised on? babies are so cute!! will you end up selling it or raising it to ride?
LMM, I got on mom's computer, found you and hit her friend you button then had her go to the instant pot site and she's just waiting for the admin to admit her. Neither you or the site was in her friend me place. She said Anthony made stew in the pot today but it must have been good cause there was nothing left when I got home. LOL She says she needs some recipes so she found the IP recipe area too. Glad Anthony made something so he can help her figure out how to use it. I see WMart has the same 8quart for $99! They said they sell as fast as they get them but had them finally today. Of course. LOL
Matt showed up drunk at my work yesterday. I was in the break room at lunch. I keep praying and keep asking God to soften his heart and raise up someone good he will listen too about the drinking and salvation. He's so sweet it's sad to see him in so much pain over his siblings deaths.
Got off at 4 rushed home and saddled up. PERFECT weather right now. 70 degrees in the sun. Rain was really good but he wants to hurry back to the place in the woods that returns to the corral so instead of stopping or slowing him we did one rein stops or circles and allowed him to stop without the bit. He picked up really fast that it got him nowhere and he does a one rein stop really easy when he sees we're just going to circle till he stops. LOL I'm thinking about driving out to the outdoor arena in town to see if it's dry enough on Mon to trailer him over away from the other horses. It will be the first time he hasn't ridden with another horse.

GR, I've found most of my recipes by doing a google search for "instant pot" then stew, cheesecake, or whatever. I print them off & put them in sheet protectors in a 3 ring binder. I have a cookbook I bought when I had my QVC pressure cooker, but don't really care for any of the recipes in it. Most of them have weird ingredients I don't normally have on hand. It will be a nice weekend here too. I have to say though, I don't really miss riding. I don't know what is wrong with me, just totally lost the desire to ride. Maybe just realize that I'm getting older & don't bounce or heal like I used to. I had another text & picture from Risty's new owner. It sounds like he is doing good but her vet wants to check him for Cushings. I've never had a vet suggest that, but who knows.

That's weird, does he have a cresty neck or any other symptoms? Maybe he can't believe she got such a great horse! LOL
Someone said they saw it was going to snow Sat but then someone looked it up and they'd taken snow off the forecast. I'm sure if it snows at all it'll be just a light sprinkling of it or it's going to get a lot colder tomorrow? I try not to look at the news but usually ask mom what the forecast is for my two days off. Guess it's time to put the logs back in the back of the truck for the winter.
All those weird ingredients are probably in our cupboard!

GR, he has always had a crest. That's why my vet told me to cut his feed 10% a couple of years ago. The next time she was out it was less cresty. He also grows a heavy winter coat. I've never had to blanket him - just the blanket God gave him. He doesn't keep the long hair all year though. Sheds like crazy in the spring. I just have to keep telling myself "he's not your horse any longer" & let it go. I know he is in a great home - they just don't do everything the way I did. Not that my way was always the best way

My mom had a major stroke on Tuesday morning. The doctor told us she would probably not survive the night. My brother and his family came down as soon as possible. She did have one fairly good afternoon. She is back at her home on hospice right now. She was really anxious and agitated but I kept telling her that I would be okay, that DH has made sure I wouldn't have to worry about money and that I have my brother and his family and I would be alright. She was always worried about what would happen to me after she was gone. I think her mind is at ease now as she is now resting peacefully. It won't be long now.
