Happy 2019 everyone! It rained most of the night here which was nice. It kept the idiots from setting off heir fireworks. I'm sure they will make up for it soon since they have already spent the money. There was a little bit of snow in the air this morning when I took the dogs out at 4:00. It melted as soon as it touched anything though. Sure wish I could have been in Omaha yesterday. My daughter got married. I knew they were going to but it was kind of last minute & just at their house. Blue jeans & t-shirts. My kind of attire!. I got my Christmas decorations taken down outside, worked on some financial stuff and now don't plan on doing much of anything today. Hope 2019 is a better year. So tired of all the negativity being posted on FB, I'm trying to get better at just scrolling past the negative people without commenting. My Mother always used to say "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" goes for posts too!

Made it through another New Years Eve. You could hear people shooting off something pretty big for a couple of hours last night. Thankfully everything is wet and frozen now because they never seem to think of fires at this time of year. It finally climbed above freezing but I doubt things will thaw out before late afternoon. LMM, did you see where there are 5 full RV hook-ups on the property? When we first saw the ad we thought it had been a RV park but we spoke to the agent and she said they had done that so friends could have somewhere to live. DH would want to put another barn on there and I told him to be sure to put it where one of the hook-ups is so there would already be power and water available. We are headed up there on Friday unless something drastic changes. I don’t really want to go right now but DH says it should be fine. Funny that the road we have to worry about the most is the one in Oregon. Highway 97 is a “death trap” with all the trucks that use it and too many areas are just 2 lanes with poor passing areas. We’re taking the motor home and I’m glad it’s small. They have a little snow up there and it will be good to see it under those conditions. I lived in snow country for 15 years so I guess I can do it again. DH says this time we will have the equipment to deal with it and not just a snow shovel. I spent hours shoveling snow from my driveway and then they would run the plow and you had to go remove the blockade they threw across it. Another place I lived they didn’t our road at all, just the main loop around the subdivision for the school bus. So glad I had 4 wheel drive. I was leaving 3 tracks in the snow because it was higher than my differential in my truck. Hope everyone has a good New Year’s Day. I might sneak a peek at some college football today.

IS that the property with all the red roofs? I like that one. It's been cold, warm, cold and warm. Mostly a spackle of snow then a day later spattering of rain and fog but the big storm is supposed to hit tomorrow night. AT least I am off Sun and Mon if it just waits till after I get home Sat night to start!!!!
I hope 2019 is a good one but so far it's Jan and my sis had to put down her cat and Buddy impaled himself so we got to visit the vet already this year. LOL

Yes the house with the red roofs was great. There was only a few inches of snow and that was kind of patchy. Even in the snow it was a pretty area. We also looked at several others while we were there too. There’s one we like even better that has a great barn. We had originally passed on it because it is a triple wide manufactured home. When we went and looked at it we loved it. It’s less expensive, has a great barn, and other outbuildings including a 4 stall run-in shed row barn. The towns were nice and everyone we met was really friendly. They have a lot of Mennonites in the area and they run a lot of businesses and have organic grocery stores. I guess right now they finally got some real snow but the further southeast you went in the valley the less snow they get as the elevation drops. Of course Buddy got hurt, he’s grey. All the greys seem to be prone to injuries for some reason 🤔. The motor home broke down on our way home and we spent a whole day getting towed and repaired. We started towards home that evening and spent the night at my brother’s house so we wouldn’t have to drive a lot in the dark. I got to visit with him for a little while which was nice. It’s about a 12 hour drive in total so on the way up we drove about 8 hours so we could get there in the early afternoon. On the way back we left after lunch and drove until about 8. We started the motor home two times moving it to get gas and breakfast and it wouldn’t start again. Most of our waiting time was waiting on roadside assistance from our insurance. I was just glad we were in the truck stop parking lot. After we finally got towed the repair shop was able to work on it right away. They were able to get it running again by 5 even though they couldn’t completely fix it. There was a lot of corrosion on the electrical connections that they cleaned up and got it to start and run but the propane wouldn’t work and the deep cycle battery wouldn’t hold a charge. We have it at a repair shop right now and there is a problem with the CO2 alarm system. If you don’t turn it on the propane shuts off. When it isn’t working you have no propane for fridge, stove, or furnace. One part of the system broke so nothing worked and it fed power back into the electrical system which drained the battery. They have to replace the whole system since you can’t get parts for it anymore so it will be there a few more days. Next month we leave for Texas but we are taking our 5th wheel so we can unhook it and drive just the truck around. It should be a fun trip visiting family and areas DH’s ancestors had lived. I have family in the same area too so we get to see both families.

HS, glad you made it home ok. Nothing worse than being on the road & at the mercy of repair shops. Be sure to let me know it you come through Tucson on your way to or from TX. Would love to see you again. I've got a 3 days weekend, but have a Dr. appointment tomorrow that will waste 1/2 the day. At least I won't have to dip into my sick leave for the appointment.

It's better when you don't have to sit in a small vehicle though. We broke down with 5 kids in 120 degree weather 11 miles north of Vegas...in the median!!!! It was terrible. Glenn and the three oldest boys hitched a ride in and came back a couple hours later with drinks and help. They towed us in and after two days we got a tow to CA and dad's mechanic fixed it. Worse break down of my life. Tex should be fun, are you even thinking of rehoming to TX?
Good luck at the dr. I hate going. I have to go to the dr on the 4th for an ultra sound for my varicose veins. Waited three wks for the referral to call.

Well, that Dr. appointment led to one with a Dermatologist and a referral for mammo & bone density. Yuck! At least the Derm. appointment came out great, but they said I should schedule a full body skin check. Yeah, I'll get around to it. Work has been crazy busy, but at least the days go by fast. I was going to check out a couple of estate sales but they are 40-60 minutes away so don't think I'll do it. The lady I sit next to in church owns an estate sale company. My furnace died again - 2nd time this month. The last time it started again the day before the tech got here so he couldn't really do anything & didn't find anything wrong. Actually hoping it doesn't start again before he gets here Tuesday afternoon. My space heaters are ok, at least keep the temp around 65, but really adding to my electric bill & I unplug them before I go to bed or leave the house.
