Happy July 1st! I hope everyone & their animals stays safe on the 4th. I'm lucky-not many fireworks in my neighborhood so my dogs shouldn't be too upset. Don't have any plans for the holiday, except taking Friday & Monday off. Going in for a CT scan on Monday and, hopefully, get to the bottom of some of my stomach problems. Also have and dreaded colonoscopy to look forward to next month.

Still in a holding pattern about the house. We are preapproved for the Montana house, just waiting to close on this one. I am pretty tired of camping in the house and today we had some friends take the couch and recliner we still had left. They live in a travel trailer but are going to set them up outside. We had a pool we gave them and they will be nice and comfy by it. They live on a piece of property that belonged to his grandparents and his sister lives in the house that’s there. I’m not sure if they have any electricity hooked up but we also gave them a generator that they run for the refrigerator and to charge their batteries. They are hard working and (mostly) honest but don’t always have year round jobs. They have really been a big help to us and they took most of the stuff we weren’t taking and have found people that needed it. The governor of Oregon is trying her hardest to make Oregon into CA. Trying to regulate the rural areas out of existence and close down logging and farming. Because the population in the Portland area outnumbers most of the rest of the state they pass legislation to benefit themselves and make life even harder for the rest of the state. Once you realize that she is the sister of the former CA governor Jerry Brown it all comes clear. Their father was also governor of CA at one time. She couldn’t get elected there so she moved north to build her own little kingdom. So glad we are leaving. She wants to outlaw all diesel engines manufactured before 2007 including farm equipment and logging equipment. Like those folks can afford $200,000 or more to replace a perfectly good piece of equipment or to have to replace a whole fleet of them. Gas would also go up by $3.00 a gallon. Now she decided to let illegal immigrants get driver’s licenses even though it was voted down twice. Citizens have to provide all sorts of documentation to get one but illegals can get one in whatever name they choose with whatever birthdate they pick. Some people say it will encourage them to get insurance but that’s not likely. You can get registered to vote when you get your license and many people who have done that say their registration comes with them either registered as democrat or no party affiliation even though they had marked republican. Guess whose vote she wants? It’s all vote by mail here, they just mail your ballot to the address on your license. She also changed the way the electoral college votes from Oregon will be decided.

HS I hate paperwork and having to jump through hoops but the worse is that you still have to WAIT on people and usually no one calls back, you have to play tag. We have a few people who have moved here from CA or some who are going there to hunt. They said CA has made buying ammo and hunting hard. Evidently you now have to hunt with lead free ammo which we don't have accept in shotshells.
HS I hope this gives you answers. Do you take heartburn meds? mom said they cause what they call watermelon stomach. This is what she had till she stopped taking the meds and started taking prebiotic and probiotics.
I will know the end of the week what's happening. They said then next is a procedure where they take out an apple core size and it cauterizes at the same time. In hopes of getting it all. IF it's cancerous.

biopsy came out in the high end, they scheduled me for the Leep Procedure Aug 16th. I will be off horses for 3 to 6 wks. I'll be in Wy from the 6th to the 12th so most of this summer between weather and procedures is pretty well shot. I really wanted to work on getting Rain on the roads this year. Maybe we'll have a long fall?

These people are driving me nuts. We are supposed to sign tomorrow but the people called us and said they need a week or more to move. Who waits until the day before closing to ask for an extension? The thing is they want us to go ahead and sign so they get their money but we won’t be able to move in until they decide they are ready to move. I think they have a property lined up but it won’t be ready so they don’t want to go until it is. Evidently here you have to pay for any propane left in the tank but they are willing to forgo that if we give them the time. DH told them to empty it then, we don’t want it. We would need $200 a day for our expenses for not moving in. They said they had the garage cleaned out for us. They also told us the 6 cows were still there and they aren’t theirs but we should just let the guy keep them there anyway because he checks the fence. No, we don’t want his cows there. We don’t want the other gal’s horses there either. These people don’t even read their contracts. They insisted they had 30 days after closing to move, I checked the contract, nope. Possession upon closing. This was almost 45 days ago when this first started. They have lied and manipulated things from the start. Said they would replace the electrical panel that is a safety hazard and then said no, it had worked for them so that was that. They weren’t even going to let us get an estimate for the replacement until we explained the VA wouldn’t fund the loan with a safety issue like that. I am so sick of this. We had Henry get really sick and $2000+ later we had to put him down and still no real answer as to what happened. It’s 96* here and the A/C in the 5th wheel doesn’t work. The A/C in the motor home works but it’s got a bunch of stuff in it and the cats. No where to sit or do anything. I want this over with!

HS, I'm so sorry you are running into more problems with the sellers. I think I would tell them you are closing as scheduled and whatever they haven't moved by then is yours! They have had plenty of time and need to find their own place to stay if they can't take possession of their new property yet. I agree, no one else's cows or horses. That would be just setting yourself up for a liability issue-which you don't need. Hope everything gets straightened out. I'm so sorry about Henry!

LMM, I don’t think we want much of their stuff unless it’s the tractor or lawnmower. We have to remove all the carpet and stuff as it is because it smells like cigarettes. I just hate people that lie and try to manipulate me. We knew it would be hard for them to move so we offered a 45 day closing to give them more time. We even set them up with a lender for a VA loan, which they didn’t know was so much easier than it was 30 years ago when he last tried to get one. It saved them about $65,000 in down payment because they wouldn’t need one. They are only moving 3-4 hours away not 12-13. The realtor just told DH that they actually have 15 days after the scheduled closing date before the contract is violated by the sellers. The last time I read that it was for things beyond the control of either party like permits or inspections that rely on a government entity. Nonetheless we will NOT be signing any closing paperwork.

They have moving companies that will store the items till needed they have Pods they could put their stuff in pods and have them stored. It' not hard now days. Wow you'd think they would get off their butts and get their items taken care of. I agree I wouldn't want anyone's animals on my place till I at least made a contract and collected board. Are you still looking for a second place? just in case? maybe God has something better in mind.

GR, we checked into Pods for our move but they don’t do Montana. The closest they come is Boise. They found a property and I think they just didn’t want to have to do the storage thing. I don’t blame them as units are really hard to come by but I had to do it. They don’t want to spend the money. They were supposed to be out today but she told me she had movers coming next Thursday and they were supposed to do it all. She didn’t call them until Tuesday and I highly doubt they were available for next Thursday at this short notice. They did tell me that if we wanted them out sooner we could go rent a truck and move them ourselves. Hardly. We gave them until Sunday night to be out and after that it’s $200 a day for our expenses up until the second of August. Otherwise we terminate the contract. They had tried telling us before that they get 30 days after closing to move, that it was a law 😂. I told them read your contract, possession upon closing. No way are we signing and then staying in the rv park at our expense while they live in our house and we pay the utilities and mortgage too. That’s how they wanted it. They have lied to us right and left about things, agreed verbally to things and then back out, whined about how hard it is for them to move, etc. They signed the extension agreement but I’m not going to hold my breath that they honor it. We went and looked at another place today. It’s 20 acres, mostly hay fields, but right across the street from Forest Service land and we’ve already checked with the ranger station about riding there. It’s a lot less money and although there’s a barn on it it’s set up as a big 2 room workshop. We would be able to build a barn on this place. At this point I don’t care much.

I assume you closed on the first property? Love the mountainous area!! When we bought they said the closing and vacating options are agreed upon and then put into the contract. We signed and I believe took possession immediately because it was already empty. They had told us verbally they were going to leave us some things like the doggy door on the sliding door and when we went in after signing they had taken everything. We bought it from DH's boss and his wife. She was going to leave us some newer furniture because they sold their cabin and had no where to put the furniture etc.. but I think He gave them to his kids.
I probably won't be online for a week or so. I fly out to WY tomorrow morning for the girls camp out/horse ride. Hope you all are enjoying your summer.
