That looks like a fantastic place. Fenced yard for the puppers and a nice looking neighborhood. We bought a used snowblower last year but never needed to use it. Might not be a bad idea to get one. Unless you plan on having a yard service mow for you I would recommend that the lawnmower you get be one of the self propelled models. We have one that I go around the edges of the yard by the flowerbeds and fences with because the rider doesn’t get very close and there are some odd places it just can’t do. The willow tree out front has some exposed roots and I just can’t run the rider over them so I miss some big sections. Just watch out as sometimes you almost have to run to keep up with it, it’s a balancing act to get the speed right. I have to say I have never bought a house where you need to offer more than the asking price. We always have offered less. I guess no one wants to live in the places we do LOL. I’m hoping my friend back in Oregon still gets an offer on her house. There was one coming in when the big fire broke out and they had to evacuate for over a week. Her property survived without any damage and so did the properties around her. Further down the highway they were not so lucky and quite a few places burned. I can barely recognize anything in the videos of driving up the highway now or the helicopter tour over the area. Hopefully she will be able to sell quickly and at a good price. So many homes were lost and there’s an over abundance of people in need of homes now, not just from that area but from all over the west coast. She has been looking at this area but places sell so fast. She has 10 or so horses and needs a place with some room. We may end up with a few of them here for a while if she needs it. We have plenty of room, and hay, to house a few visitors. The place she’s selling has 10 irrigated acres, beautiful house, nice 5 stall barn, hay storage, and a covered arena. I wanted the place when the previous owner (whom I knew) had it. Always a little too pricey for our budget though.

HS, yep, self-propelled for sure. I'll be watching for early sales of snow blowers. I had one in South Dakota & I loved using it! I know, I'm weird! I'll have to check around & see if the cost would be a lot more to hire a yard service. I could really use the exercise though. My bones crack & pop now so much more than they did when I was still riding. The back yard has a large section along the back lot line that is really overgrown with volunteer trees & plants. I'm going to hire the realtor's son to get it cleaned up if he can also haul it away. If not, I'll get a yard service to do it before it gets cold and snows! I don't mind the trees back there but all I can think of with the overgrown is ticks! I don't think people would have to offer above the asking price, but there just isn't much inventory in the price range I was looking at. That's good for the sellers anyway. Wonder what's going to happen after the election. My finance lady said she doesn't see the interest rates going up anytime soon so that will help keep housing in a sellers market and refinancing will still be going strong.

It's really nice and has a warm look to it. And I love the big back yard. That's one thing about WY is that the yards are not big at least not many of them. You'd think with all that space but I was surprised when we moved to MO the first time in 2000 and everything had huge yards. I've never been to Menards but I discovered Chik-fil-a last year...oh so good.
We finished the tack shed. Got lost looking for the gravel company LOL but not too much of a back track. So the cement is curing and when it's done I'll have my tack shed back...Little things mean the most right? and they delivered my hay on Thurs? and I got it all tarped over so I think I'm ready for winter now. I told Anthony I could not have done it without him and made him take my money! LOL He's such a blessing.
Martha does Michael hunt? our archery season started here on the 15th and the turkeys are moving.

If you are looking at the pictures on the link, the built in bookcase between the dining area & the living room swings open and has a good sized storage space behind it. My daughter pointed it out & when I asked her how she figured it out she pointed out the hinges.

I love built in shelves. Hope you get the move excellerated.
I've been ill for a week, took the "drive through" covid test on Tues and on Wed they called to say it was positive... Its like having allergies a cold, the flue and a wreck with a mac truck. I don't get it mom got sick two Days later and was better today, I'm still running a fever and coughing up a lung. Anthony brought me soup and now he's hacking up a lung and is quarantined. The county was pretty slow on this they are just now going to quarantine my closest co workers after a WEEK. I am waiting for the tylenol to kick in so I can go back to sleep. Would appreciate prayers or good thoughts for our family.

GR, prayers & healing thoughts for you & your family. Take care of yourself! Can you get paid time off for the quarantine? I have to knock on wood that I haven't had it. I was really sick in January & missed a couple of days of work and had a cough that hung on. I still wonder it it was Covid back then. I've never been tested & won't until I show symptoms. Their test reporting is just to shaky. Hoping Pres. & Mrs. Trump recover quickly too.

We do a test on line before we can clock in so I called my boss and said I am answering yes to all 4 questions what do I do? she told me I couldn't come back for 14 days or till I take the covid test and it's negative. I will get paid and as of now the county is keeping track of my symptoms and how long since my last fever which was last night. I hope Trump has a light case the worse thing for me is the body aches especially the tummy into the back.
That stick up the nose is AWEFUL

I wish they could come up with a better test. So for the people needing to be tested every day, do they still get the nasal swab? I can't imagine that every day! Now I'm kind of leaning toward hiring a yard service for the mowing & snow removal. The back yard is pretty good sized & the front is a big slope so it wouldn't be easy to mow. The driveway also slopes up to the house, not bad though. My mind sometimes just doesn't recognize the fact that I'm going to be 67 in a week.

LMM, there are supposed to be several different tests including a quick one. I have no intention of having a test unless I get sick. As some have pointed out a lot of people don’t seem to get sick until they get the test. We have gone up to 17 cases in our county now so masks are mandatory again. We had to go to Colville, WA to pick up our puppies and did a little shopping while we were there. Although masks are supposed to be mandatory in WA I sure saw a lot of people without them in Walmart. They even had someone at the door but they didn’t seem to care. I did see someone walking down the road, all alone, wearing a mask 😷. It really makes no sense what people do. The other day I saw someone driving alone in their car wearing one. Although I have been out of the loop on the shopping thing I have to say it was the poorliest stocked Walmart I have been in. We are barely into October and they seemed to already be out of most winter clothing. The displays were almost empty of the few styles they did have. DH wanted to get a few more shirts and ended up with just one. I think I may just stick to online. These pups are the cutest, tiniest things. They are pretty smart too. They already use the potty pads most of the time. Oscar is playing with them although he also is trying to show his dominance and rolls them over a lot. Judy is not impressed and doesn’t want much to do with them. We thought she would be the one to want to play with them but nope. One of the boys that was at the group home across the highway last year stopped by to see us today. He had been a big help with redoing the floors last year. He had gotten transferred to another home but now is back with his family. He and his dad are going to move to Minnesota in a few weeks and he wanted to stop by and see us before they leave. He has big ambitions and I hope he is successful and that his family stays clean and that he does too. He’s only 17 and has picked out a truck he wants and is saving for the down payment. The truck is $105,000 dollars and the payment would be about $2,000 a month. He says he will be making enough money to afford that payment after he moves and he and his dad start their new job demolishing houses. I hate to tell him it will sure be hard for him to get financing for the truck and that his insurance will be about the same amount as his payment. But let him dream. I’m sure reality will slap him upside the head pretty quickly when he goes to try and buy it. There are houses that cost less than that and between the payment and insurance he’ll be paying more than our mortgage. I hope everyone is doing good. GR, take good care of yourself and get well soon.

We are finally back to normal! as for the testing daily...they are saying that if you go get tested before the 3rd day it will likely come back with a false negative. So daily wouldn't work. That's a lot of money for a kid, what they don't seem to understand is that that is EVERY month and after a 5 yr loan most kids give up and walk away leaving bad credit. Walmart doesn't want to annoy the shoppers so they give them a mask if they want one and do nothing if they don't. I think they need to follow Burlington's sign it says a mask is manditory for all employees and customers and must be worn inside the store! And since we have AP's that are always there then kick them out if they won't. I've never done pads, mom's chihuahua goes on them, I told her she's supposed to move them every week till they are by the door and then out the door but she says chihuahua's are too short to pee on snow.
I don't do snow removal unless Jim can't get to the chickens then I shovel a path to the coop. But if I lived alone I'd probably do my own. I used to mow weedwack and snow plow when I lived in WY I love doing all things out doors.

I shoveled the first snow we had-about 3 inches. Maybe I'm getting old (just hit 67) but if I can afford it anything over 3 inches will be done by the yard service. I wouldn't mind mowing with a self-propelled, but my yard is so hilly (as is most of Omaha), I get winded sometimes just walking up the steps outside to get to the front door if I'm carrying groceries Slowly getting things fixed up. I had a plumber out to run a line for my refrigerator. Had an electrician rewire the garage door opener (it was plugged into an extension cord & run over to an outlet on the wall. He replaced the ceiling light in the garage, replaced the switch for my outside back yard spotlights, installed a motion detector light at the corner of my house, installed an outlet in the hallway and another one in the kitchen, mounted my 4 security cameras. He also does general handyman work so today I bought a replacement entry door and a storm door for the side door(off the kitchen) and will have him back this week to install them before the weather gets bad. Hoping that's the end of it - I still need some living room furniture

Wow you got a lot done! we had a friend come help Jim install a new front door and they still have to redo the trim around it....next week. They are not young I guess. LOL Opening deer season tomorrow. It has been crazy at work it was just me yesterday, I worked a mid/early shift and no closer. Management got to see why I warned them they needed to have more of us work closer to Sat. Brad had three gun sales above the deer tags. He said it was CRAZY. YUP don't listen to me though. LOL
I had the boys trimmed, Rain's shoes removed on Monday. We had to wait till school was over so Amos' oldest could help. He ended up doing Boomer by himself with just a little bit of help from his dad. He did a great job for a 13 yr old. Amos said he has done 10 of their horses but he won't let him do too many because it's hard on your body and he doesn't want him getting injured. When I moved here and Amos was doing the horses his oldest was a toddler. Gosh I'm feeling old.
Anthony is staying till he gets a deer. I told him I'd help him process it. I just hope it stays in the 50's or we may have to quarter it and put it on ice.

We’ve had a couple of storms drop some snow here. The first one was 12” and the last one was just a couple. I had my studded tires put on between the storms and ordered a grill guard for my truck. It was out of stock at the moment so I hope it comes in soon. We haven’t put the snowplow on the mule yet or gotten out the snowblower. The rain washes it away pretty soon. GR, they never listen to the women in sporting goods 😂. I remember having to hand write all the licenses and tags. We did those at a separate area and the sporting goods clerks didn’t have to deal with it. We could have several people writing them up at a time. After they switched to computers we only had one and it slowed things down. Here you can go online and purchase your license and tags and print them at home. Even the license agents just print them on regular paper. It sure cuts down on lines before the deadline. I have been watching some videos on YouTube, The Hoof GP. It’s a hoof trimmer in Scotland that trims dairy cattle for the large dairies there. It’s really interesting to see how they do that. They have a portable squeeze chute, called a crush that they take around with them. The cow goes in, the head gate closes and a belly band goes around them and holds them up. The whole thing then lifts up and there are clamps they use to lift each foot to trim them. They use a grinder and a hoof knife to reshape the hoof and treat any problems with the hoof. The hoof is up at waist level when they work on it and the cow can’t really kick them. Since the leg is clamped they can’t pull it away. I know it wouldn’t work for horses but wow, if it would it would sure change hoof trimming if it could. He does 45-50 cows a day like that. Check it out some time. We don’t have TV so we watch YouTube a lot. I watch videos on exploring abandoned houses, metal detecting, magnet fishing, bottle hunting, and hunting for artifacts and oddities in city creeks.

Gee, I didn't know dairy cattle needed their hoofs trimmed. Interesting! I'm down to 1 short wardrobe box and 1/2 of a larger box to unpack in my bedroom, a couple of boxes to move to the basement & then I'm done! My furniture gets delivered on Wednesday. It will be nice to be able to sit in my LR & watch TV instead of laying on the bed I'm getting a recliner-haven't had one for about 30 years. That & a couch & a big TV stand with an electric heater/fake fireplace will be it. Oh yeah 1 old end table with a new table lamp & a new floor lamp. I've already unpacked & put away some things I can't find. I just need to get used to the new arrangement here. My daughter & SIL got a new TV & gave me their old one from their BR - 60 inches. Guess even my poor eyes will be able to see it She also gave me an LG washer/dryer set she had been storing for 5 years. Not sure I really like the front loading washer, but free is good! Guess I better go tackle those last boxes. Everyone have a good weekend!

LMM, they use a cordless grinder and a hoof knife to shape them. They can have some of the same problems as horses and the way he fixes them is interesting to watch. The cows are expensive and well cared for but as always a few manage to get injured. There’s been a few with a screw in their hoof or a stone embedded. His accent is so cool too. When I got my last washer/dryer set I got a top load without an agitator so bigger items would fit. I’m not too crazy about the real low water levels it uses and wonder if a front load wouldn’t have been a better choice. It also takes forever to do a load compared to my old set. When we moved in there was a set left that was almost identical to my old set. I used it until we picked up our stuff from storage. I really liked it again. I gave them to our friends that moved here too because they had to leave both of the sets they had when they moved. I needed the less water use in Oregon because you always needed to conserve water. They were even considering putting meters on people’s private wells. We have a great well here and I wish I had a washer that used more water. Maybe I just have been so used to that because the clothes come out really clean here. I must just be resistant to change 😂. Just be sure to clean your washer to keep it from getting the funky smell they mention about front loaders. Mine tells me to clean it and has a special cycle for it and you use Afresh tablets. In fact after my last load the light for it started flashing so I need to run it. Has anyone else noticed that they are cooking a lot more and eating out less? My grocery bills have gone up but my dining out expenses have really dropped. I bet we ate out 4-5 days a week in Oregon and once a week, twice at the most, here. We usually order a rib dinner from the local resort once a week and only eat in town if we are meeting someone. We got so sick of eating out during our move and just want to stay home. We even bring the rib dinner home to eat. Everything here is still open and really only closed or went to takeout only for a couple of weeks. Some things are still hard to come by nothing I can’t live without. I do feel sorry for the people who are still living in Oregon that we knew. They are going back to a full lockdown for at least a couple of weeks. They were still on a semi lockdown when they had to evacuate from the fires. Pretty glad we are here now.
