So since we never get around to changing the month on the coop...
No one's been on here in a couple weeks! I know we see each other on FB but it's just too public for our more personal discussions.
LMM, how's everything going? are you getting some great fruit off your trees? we lost all our apples and peaches to the storms early spring. I can't really complain since all the rain we've had has made our hay crops grow like we've never seen. Hay everywhere. I put in my order for 14 RB's since I ran out last year and had to buy two large squares.
HS, would love to see your new home? are you getting some furniture in yet? have you found a good auction house? they are great for furnishing a home. I love your mountain riding.
Hey V how's work going?
I found out yesterday that my appointment for the Leep is Sept 16 not Aug 16. I'm sure she didn't tell me that. So I'm putting shoes on Rain tomorrow so I can ride him on the road. Hope this goes well, I definitely will keep riding with my helmet. I think he'll be fine.
I was so mentally exhausted when I left for WY, I finally feel whole again. All the crappy changes at work and then the dentist visits and dr visits just got me down. Plus I have so much fall work around the horses to do and it's just been way too hot to do anything outside. I fixed the fence today that Rain broke before I left. I need to get out there and clean up all the branches that have fallen off the trees and burn them. The area we store the RB's in is a jungle, I need to mow it but have to find all the rocks and such and remove them first. There is lush grass growing everywhere. Half my Round Pen is grass and the whole area where the woods is (where they didn't cut them down) is a jungle of grass/weeds not to mention the new clearing or the waist high jungle. I called the hay people today and she said they are STILL out in the fields because the rain we've had this year has made the hay grow and grow. I said yes it's a blessing. She put me on the list so when they cut the horse hay next month I''ll be getting 14 bales.

GR, yeah, we never seemed to keep up with what month we were in My grapefruit tree is done producing for this year but is FULL of small green fruit for next year’s crop. I made it through 2 CT scans with no apparent issues-other than a dead car battery when I tried to go home after the 2nd one. Guess my abdomen & lungs passed inspection. Now the really fun procedure will be on the 26th. YUCK I have to start a restricted diet on Thursday and then only clear liquids on Sunday. Glad your vacation renewed you. I’m seriously thinking about moving next spring/summer. I want to be closer to my daughter. She is in Omaha and both my sisters are in south Dakota. I love AZ, especially Tucson and hate winter, but don’t like being so far from family. I figure if the Lord has it in his plans for me to move, he will show me the way (financially especially) and get me there. I always told my daughter I wouldn’t move back to the Midwest as long as I had a horse. That issue was resolved almost 2 years ago. I can’t believe it’s been that long! I still hear on FB from the lady who bought him & they love him. I’m happy he has a good home & gets the attention he wasn’t getting from me.

Can you see yourself getting another horse if it was cheap enough? Wy is a state that upkeep was pretty inexpensive and Nebraska is right next door. Glad your Scans turned out good. What were they looking for?
My cousin's oldest son killed himself about 3 wks ago, veered over in front of a semi. He had warned his sister he would if she turned him in for selling drugs. And today one of my other cousin's oldest sons died of an enlarged heart. He wasn't able to work for the past year and disability refused a heart trans because they didn't want to pay for the drugs he'd need for the rest of his life. Wow that is really hard to believe.
It's been mid 90's here all week and with the rain it's been so humid. The only thing I got done today was taking down the electric fence and putting it up for the winter. We only put it up so Anthony wouldn't have to go into the woods to catch Buddy while I was gone. Next week is supposed to be in the 70's YUP now that I go back to work tomorrow we're going to have cooler weather!!!!!! UGH

No, I can't see myself owning another horse, but would like to volunteer at a horse rescue or handi-capped riding facility or something similar. The abdominal CT was to make sure that the hernia mesh wasn't coming loose. The abdomen was ok but it captured a small section of a lung & it showed a small gray area. The full lung CT was ok. Dr. said at some point since living in AZ I probably had a slight case of Valley Fever & never realized it. I still have some pain occasionally in the area of the hernia repair but I guess I won't worry about it as long as it doesn't get any worse. Now just to make it through the prep and colonoscopy & have everything ok there.

I had 3 events planned for this morning; depending on what I felt like when I woke up. Horse show? Airplane show? Mountain man reenactments with old time music?
It was raining when I woke up; so grocery shopping, laundry & house cleaning. Dinner tonight with friends, some I haven't seen for awhile!
I can't believe it's August and not only is my a/c off & all the windows open, but it's so cool I had to put a sweater on!
Work has been busy. Since federal hiring was frozen in 2009 we've lost so many employees there isn't enough people to do the work. So, since the govt reopened we've been working a lot of overtime. We've been allowed up to 20 hours a pay period but now they're hinting it may go up to 40 hours a pay period!
I got my floors fixed in my home, but the outside walls are still damaged from last years flood. Really glad I got the flooding issue fixed before this year. If the OT keeps up I'll be able to fix the outside walls. The person who fixed the floors hasn't given me an estimate on the walls, but he said it would be pretty expensive. I know it will be, they have to replace the walls clear down to the studs.
I also need 4 windows replaced. They are the last 4 windows, I didn't replace them when I did the others when I bought the home. But they are actually taped in with duct tape & need to be replaced. He's planning on replacing these when he does the outside walls.

I've never heard of valley fever? glad your okay and staying healthy. I couldn't do the handicap but a rescue I could do although I might be tempted to adopt a lot of animals. It probably wouldn't be good for me.
Anthony has an ear ache, I think he's got sinus' going on. It's pretty rampant at the moment with all the rain and then it's in the 90's and down to the 70's and back up to the 90's with high humidity. UGH My co worker called in Fri night with a sinus infection and I ended up with a couple extra hours.
V do you have Amish around you? we had them put in windows upstairs and new garage doors, very very inexpensive. I mowed the area down below on both sides of the drive and when I was done it looked like we were getting ready to bale hay! it was over 2' high. In the field there's tons of grass and a lot of green stuff I can't name but it's so deep you can't see the horses in places. I need to get the ground all cleaned up so I can use the zero turn next year and keep it mowed up. I don't know where I ever thought we would need to PLANT grass?

GR, "Valley fever is a fungal lung infection caused by a fungus that lives in the soil. Not contagious. Only about half those who inhale the fungus will even get sick. Sickness can range from flu-like symptoms, to severe pneumonia, to death. The disease is not new to residents in the desert areas of Arizona and California, particularly those who work outside and are exposed to desert dust." Pretty sure all my time riding in the desert dust probably contributed to getting it. It's treatable (expensive), but no real cure. The little poodle X dog I lost a couple of years ago came to me with it. Most of the time she was healthy until it settled in her lungs & lymph glands. Really expensive to treat in dogs. I took a vacation day today - yay, a 4 day weekend! They removed a polyp during my colonoscopy on Monday. Had a call from the Dr.'s office yesterday & it was the type that doesn't turn into cancer. I'm good for another 5 years!! Doing a Costco run today - $$$$$, taking my cousin to lunch tomorrow for driving me to my appointment last Monday, church on Sunday, and not a darn thing on Monday. Well, actually thinking about moving my computer from the 2nd bedroom to the living room. The computer hutch is big & heavy, but I might attempt it anyway. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Evidently WY doesn't have it because we inhale dust all the time with the dry dirt and the dust devils. Good for you getting to take an extra day! I always feel guilty when I take one for no reason. I should do the colon thing but maybe next year! LOL
I rode Rain on Monday he is getting where he LOVES to go riding. Monday he refused twice to go back to the corral before I realizes he didn't want to go back to the corral. I didn't get to ride on the road because the neighbors were shooting doves on one side and the other someone was shooting bricks of firecrackers off and I didn't feel like dealing with that AND being new to road riding.
I go in on the 13th for my pre op stuff and surgery on the 16th. Took off three extra days.

I HAVE INTERNET! Finally we got our internet and phone hooked up. Got really old quickly having to drive down the road to get enough cell phone service to get online. We got our furniture yesterday and it’s so nice to be able to sit in a real chair. We only have 2 small areas to finish on the floor and then the trim to put in. Got 8 round bales of hay today and got about 4 tons of small squares a couple of weeks ago. We still have a lot of grass so they won’t need them very soon. I saw some fresh bear poop yesterday out past the barn. The neighbors said the bears come in and strip the apple trees every year. We found 3 trees on the property but they were planted on a small hillside and not on flat land. Lots of service berries, hawthorn, and choke cherries all over the place. We don’t have any elderberries on our place but they are all around. We still haven’t explored all the property yet so no telling what we’ll find. There was a town here complete with a hotel and the house was built before 1918.
I managed to mess up my right shoulder and can hardly move it. I go next Tuesday for an MRI to see just what is wrong. It’s been hard to work with just one good arm.

OW ouch hope the MRI shows something manageable? Have you thought about a chiro first? Ours does the xray pretty cheap and has a lot of things to do to keep you from having to do ortho. Since you moved I've gotten some really neat Vacation Montana sites on FB. Beautiful chalets, fishing and hunting. Hope you guys are really happy there. Do you have a metal detector yet?
Yeah on the internet. There was a time when I could have lived without cell phones and laptops. Poor poor me.
Surgery went good this morn. They got me ready, wheeled me back where the very nice Anesthesiologist told me he was going to make me dream good dreams. What they removed was a large lesion on the outer wall of the cervix and she said the cells inside the cervix were not cancerous. This legion she said is pre-cancerous but they will biopsy anyway to be sure. If we'd not found it she said it would have become cancerous. Thank you Lord for this whole thing, I never even went in for a pap, hadn't had one in over 25 yrs. Don't know why I said "yeah sure go ahead and do a pap!" But God does. He blesses me even when I don't see it. I thank my doctor too for asking me every time I go in for a sore throat if I want a physical! she's pretty stubborn.

GR glad the surgery went well. We are really enjoying this area. I have a White Prizm III and DH has a White Spectrum metal detector. His is fancier but harder to use. You have to do a bunch of adjustments before you use it and mine you just turn it on and you’re ready. I have had better luck than him in some areas, even covering the same area. Sometimes less really is more. The more we explore our property the more we discover. There’s an old dump up on the hill near where there was a hotel. It looks like it was partially covered at one time since you can see metal and glass in the hillside. We have been listening to the elk day and night and last night it seemed like every 5 minutes. Our friend got a picture of an elk out by our hay barn the other day. Our area is said to be like Glacier Park but without all the people. If we look at the reservoir and see 3 boats on it they say it’s crowded. We are getting ready for winter. New windows in the house, a walk behind snow blower, a snow plow for our UTV, and shopping for a generator and tire chains for both the UTV and the tractor. DH is planning to go to Nigeria this winter. He has been invited to come and start a church there. We aren’t sure exactly when he’s going or how long he will stay. We’re grateful our friends have moved up here too and won’t be to far away. The pastor of the local church we started going to has told me not to worry about him being gone and not to hesitate to call him if I need any help. I should be fine as I have lived alone in snow country before. We have 2 4WD vehicles besides the UTV and the UTV can be driven on the road here. Not my first choice of vehicle to drive to town since it tops out at about 35mph, half the speed limit 😂.

Haven't been on for ages; noticed where doing a year long instead of month to month postings. I've been working so much overtime at my job that I was able to quit my part time jobs. I pretty much have only 1 day off a week & have been spending that pretty much sleeping. The exit to the stable I keep my horses at is closed, has been for several weeks. Makes it so much harder to get to see them, basically I can't on the days I'm working. Between an 11-12 hour work day 5-6 days a week, with almost a 3 hours round trip drive almost doesn't leave me enough time to take care of my cats & dog, let alone sleep. Fiscal year ends next week; so OT will end for the time being. Almost hoping for another govt shutdown to guarantee me OT for the next year!
Horses are doing well, but I wish I could have them at my place & not boarded. At least then I could see them every day. All the cats & the dog are doing well also. Dumbledore is maintaining his weight, not gaining, but not losing either. He's been getting dry kitten chow, which he loves, plus canned whenever I can get it to him. He's gotten to where when I head to the head, hahaha, he follows me because he knows I will shut the door & let him have the kitten chow & the canned food.

I went to the orthopedic surgeon a couple of weeks ago. He says I have a frozen shoulder, bone spur, and fraying on both the rotator cuff and the labrum, which is a cartilage inside the socket. My shoulder needs to get freed up so it can move before they would have much success removing the bone that is fraying the cuff and labrum. He was going to consult with a couple of other surgeons to come up with a treatment. Right now I can’t raise my arm quite to shoulder height or extend it forward all the way. Plus it hurts all the time. I have a hard time finding a comfortable position to sleep in and sleeping on my left side is starting to make my left shoulder hurt and catch again too. It had really improved after I smacked it hard falling down the stairs last year. I guess I’m just falling apart. After the Dr gave me a cortisone injection in my right shoulder I started feeling poorly again and having a hard time with my temperature, always too hot again. I have tried twice to get my prescription refilled and nothing happens. Humana finally sent a letter that I needed to update my information with them and that I might not be able to have them for my prescription coverage anymore. I called them, talked to 2 different people and departments, updating all my information both times only to have each one tell me they couldn’t help me, they needed to transfer me to another department. I had already spent over 30 minutes on the call and didn’t feel like doing it any longer. No one I spoke to could tell me if I was still eligible for their coverage or what happened with my prescription. I guess no one actually listens to what you say, they just pass you around. My brother had to spend 3 hours on the phone with the IRS trying to get my mother’s last income tax refund paid again after his accountant messed up the return by putting the wrong address on it and the check was sent back because it couldn’t be forwarded. The accountant didn’t even do the return right and we had received a letter explaining the corrections the IRS did to the return. I had sent a check for taxes due and actually there was a refund due. I hope he got himself a new accountant since he did his business and personal returns too and messed those up as well.

HS; both you & your brother should go to irs.gov, download a Form 2848, fill it out & send it to the address on the website for POA. That way you can both talk to the IRS, get information, update her account... The important thing is that your mom & both of you need to sign it within 5 days of each other. If your mom can't sign it, you'll need to be named her guardian & you'll need to submit a copy of it with the Form 2848.
Today was the last day of our local Renn Faire; I got some really good pictures of 2 of my friends & the bird show flying an owl. Tried to upload them on my FB page, but couldn't get them off the tiny memory card. I'll try again later. For many years I always bought the expensive package, entry every faire day, free mug, knapsack & several free tickets. If I had any free tickets left at the end of the faire, I would give them away my last day there. Today karma gave me a free ticket! I only went twice this year, so someone coming up & asking if I had my ticket already, then did I want their extra ticket was really nice. I had several $3 of an adult ticket, so I gave all of them away.
My farrier worked my into a long day of hauling horses & trimming today, I was her last 1 & since she had the trailer hooked up after trimming we did some trailer loading with both horses. Both of them did very good & stepped right up. The exit to the road the stable is on is closed. It makes getting there a pain in the you know what. It adds about 30-40 minutes to my already 2 1/2 - 3 hour round trip drive to work. So I've only been able to go get there once or twice a week. Now that the OT is over I should be able to go 3-4 days a weeks. Bear has become just plain obnoxious without being handled. That is about to end!

V my mother passed away in 2017. My brother and I were co-executors for her estate. It wasn’t that he couldn’t get information it was that for quite a while we didn’t understand why we got the notification that the taxes were incorrect and the corrections the IRS did but it seemed like forever while we waited for the check. We finally figured out what happened and he tried multiple times to contact them but got tired of holding after an hour or more. He was finally able to spend 3 hours on hold to get it fixed. I had changed my mom’s address to mine but the accountant used the one on her 1099’s instead.
