...tried multiple times to contact them but got tired of holding after an hour or more. He was finally able to spend 3 hours on hold to get it fixed. I had changed my mom’s address to mine but the accountant used the one on her 1099’s instead. This will soon change! In 2009 Obama froze all federal hiring & between 2009 & 2016 the IRS alone lost over 20,000 employees we couldn't rehire due to the freeze. I don't even know how many we've lost since 2016 as no numbers have been released. Trump last year signed an executive order to undo this & has authorized (at least the IRS, not sure about the other govt depts) the ok to rehire all the positions that were lost due to the freeze. The customer service jobs will take the longest to fill, they're filling all the data conversion & tax examiner jobs 1st because they're the fastest to train. CSR training usually takes a year, the other jobs just a few weeks.

Why did Obama freeze the jobs? saving money? sorry to hear about the exit being closed are they at least going to work on it? sometimes it would be nice to have someone else taking care of the horses like when it's raining and lightning hitting around you. But I really do like horse chores.
I am intellectually challenged when it comes to dr. stuff. I still have no idea if I owe for any of my dr stuff over this cancerous cell stuff. I have gotten two bills my insurer has paid and so far my part has been 0. WHEW hoping to see the same on the next bill. I have been sick with either allergies or bronchitis for a month. Mom's dr' said she has bronchitis mine said allergies. We have the same symptoms. LOL
Last two morns I had sore throat and the back of my tongue hurt as well. I pushed myself to ride Rain since this is supposed to be the last good weekend for awhile. I rode 10 min but between my aching head, the high wind, the youth hunt (shots in the woods next door) and the heavy equipment coming down our road after we saddled up I just gave up and we did some bonding time walking around the still green grass by the back door. None of this bothered Rain especially the bonding while eating grass. LOL

We had a beautiful day today. The sun was out and no wind. DH took Winnie down to the lower pasture for a ride today. Since my shoulder is still not working I went down in the Mule and collected rocks from the creek bed while he rode. Winnie is 26 but you wouldn’t know it from her behavior today. All she wanted to do was run laps around the field. DH let her set the pace and she just ran and ran. They usually walk a lot and trot some but not today. She sure seemed to be having fun. He just wishes she was a little smoother. The Dr wants to do some more aggressive physical therapy to try to break my shoulder loose. If that doesn’t work then they can put me completely under and try manual manipulation to loosen it. The last resort would be arthroscopic surgery to release the adhesions. After it is loosened then they can address the bone that’s fraying the rotator cuff. Sounds like a lot of fun. GR I never get a bill from a doctor because I have a secondary insurance that covers what the first doesn’t pay. When DH went to Medicare last year that’s what we thought we had gotten for him but it wasn’t. It was what we asked for but they rattle off what the plan does and doesn’t do so fast and use terms we aren’t familiar with so he ended up with the wrong thing. He changed it once but that wasn’t exactly what he wanted either so he has to change again. Hopefully what he wants is available in things state, it wasn’t in Oregon but they didn’t tell him that at the time. They just put him in a plan that was somewhat like what he asked for. It’s such a nightmare to change anything. I spent over an hour on the phone just changing my prescription plan. That was after another call that was over half an hour changing my address with them and being transferred around. I still haven’t received the recovery kit box to send back the old modem and head unit from the satellite dish for the old internet company. They don’t answer my messages or emails now. So many people are disgusted with the company and post negative comments on their Facebook page. It’s the only way to get any response from them. I told them we all know that when the equipment gets back to them it’s just going in the dumpster because it’s obsolete now. There is no way their stuff is so important to return after 6 or seven years and Directv’s stuff isn’t. Especially since they had to launch a new satellite and the old equipment never works with the new satellite. They just want a way to try and charge you more money. A lot of people can’t get up on the roof to disassemble the dish and they charge $95 to come out and do it for you. Mine was on a pole because I had a metal roof and they won’t install on those.

Viasat blocked me on Facebook 🤣. They deleted my posts and comments. That’s how they fix things. I noticed they removed other posts and comments too. Must have decided there were too many negative comments on there. If they would just follow through with their promises they wouldn’t have that problem.

Why did Obama freeze the jobs? saving money? Smaller Govt. & save money. Even though it's nice having someone else to take care of the horses, I really prefer to take care of my horses myself. Especially when 1 is sick or hurt. Right now Bear is fighting an abscess & it's a pain for both of us!

Thank you for the Christmas wish. Same to you and also a Happy Hanukkah. My little pug, Oscar, developed a horrible cough and after a night and a day of it I made an appointment with the vet for him. I thought maybe he had something stuck as he made gagging sounds at the end of the cough. They found he has a collapsing trachea. The vets here are so nice. This was Christmas Eve and while I had an appointment I knew there were several emergencies also. They had me leave Oscar so they could x-ray and do an endoscopy on his throat. They were supposed to close at 12:00 and I dropped him off a little after 11:00. They wanted me to call in about an hour to see if he was ready. It was after 12:00 when I called and I got the answering machine so we just headed on in to get him. There was a lady with a Yorkie there that had been there when I had left. He had something lodged in his throat and they were trying to find a vet that was open that had a very small endoscope to remove it. I don’t think they found anyone because she left the dog there. It was close to 1:00 and the vet had the receptionist go ahead and leave along with the tech that was there that had her 2 kids with her. She showed us the x-rays and explained what they could do right then and what we may need to do in the future. She gave him fluids under the skin, a steroid injection, a cough medicine injection and an injection of Ace to sedate him so he would rest and not increase his breathing. We went home with a steroid, 2 cough meds, a bronchodilator, and a sedative. I helped her give him his injections since everyone else was gone and DH and I told her we were comfortable with injections and things and both were able to give them to man or beast. LOL. She still had 2 dogs to treat when we left. She gave us her home number in case anything went wrong before they reopen tomorrow. She explained she really didn’t have any plans as her son had come the week before and just her brother was coming for dinner and not to worry about interrupting her holiday. She had been a vet in Alaska for 30 years and they had been on call 24/7. Oscar is much better today with very little coughing. Of course he’s pretty stoned too but it lets him heal.
I get my shoulder worked on on the 8th of January. They will put me under and try to loosen the adhesions manually first and if it doesn’t work before he thinks it will break my arm then they will go in arthroscopicly and release the adhesions. I just hope the weather holds until it’s over with so the drive is easy. We didn’t get a white Christmas but they did where we used to live in Oregon. Everybody kept warning me how cold and snowy winters were here and they have had more snow than we have. It’s been cold, but not too bad, and we’ve had a few snow storms that have dropped an inch or so but it has melted off pretty quick. I know there will be more coming but we are pretty prepared for it. I had studded tires put on my truck and sandbags in the back for extra traction. We have another 4x4 that’s a Jeep and a Kawasaki Mule with a snowplow attachment. We even bought a snowblower to do walkways if we need to. We have a whole house generator that plugs into the power panel outside that can run everything including the well pump so we should be fine there and even wood for the wood stove in the living room if we decide we need or want it.

Thanks for the Happy Hanukkah!
You might want to try putting Oscar on a good glucosamine chondroitin supplement. I've had good luck with the coughing going away almost completely & taking my dogs completely off all meds. My previous vet told me it's a really good idea, even if they won't recommend it & my current vet could not believe how bad Lola's collapsed trachea was when he ex-rayed her neck. He said it was the worst he had ever seen on a living dog...& she was almost cough free.
Good luck on your shoulder. I hope they can do it manually & you don't need the surgery. Make sure you get your pain meds 1st & have someone to drive you; you won't be able to drive right after your shoulder is manually loosened.
We didn't get a white Christmas here either. In fact it was almost 70 degrees! I actually left the house with the heat turned off & the windows all open to air out my home.
My house is getting more repairs! The old cardboard ceiling is coming down...as in it's been falling off for months...& a company is coming in today to put up sheetrock! Yea!

I have not been able to get on here in a month or more. Anthony finally fixed the modem. I couldn't get on anything but facebook any of the videos on there I'd hit would just give me that revolving circle thing! URGH For awhile my internet icon said limited. Never seen that before. And after a week it was just gone.
The horses are eating and getting fat, we have had two days in the 70's but it's supposed to get icy tonight and snowy tomorrow. I wish I could afford a UTV for everyday work around here. Maybe after I win the lotto! LOL
My youngest showed up last night, sober. So many changes, he's getting divorced and moving back to WY to go to work with family. He's also working on sobriety. I pray he finds it daily.

I pray things work out for M. I know he, and you, have struggled for years to get him on the right path. Whitey was lame for a week or so, pretty bad actually. I had calls in to vets but the first one, the receptionist didn’t write down my address or phone number. I called them about 2 hours after they should have been there to see how late they were running and found that out. Then they said it would be at least another 2-3 hours before they could come out. I had called on Thursday and that was Saturday. I cancelled it as I could hear him talking to the receptionist in the background and I really didn’t feel good about him. Monday I called my small animal vet and asked who she uses for her horses. She recommended another guy so I called them. They were supposed to call me back but I never heard from them. Meanwhile the lady that runs the local horse rescue stopped by to have a look at the place as part of an adoption approval process. She looked at Whitey and found the signs of an abcess starting to blow on her coronet band. Sure enough it burst overnight and drained. We washed it and sprayed it with Vetricyn and she’s back to fine. We couldn’t find anything on the sole and I even got out my hoof knife and trimmed some excess frog looking for anything. We were getting ready to start soaking her foot that day. I wish people would at least call back even if they aren’t going to be able to help you. I just don’t get why no one does. I finally got a call from our propane company about installing my kitchen stove, that we finally had another company do a month ago. The phone company here is installing fiber optic cable along all the roads and it’s almost ready. They will also be replacing the drop cable from the road to the house with fiber optic. They are our internet provider and the service is good now and should be great when they are finished. DH is continuing to get ready for his trip to Nigeria. We are getting his letter of invitation and reviewing his immunization records to see what he still needs as he had many of them years ago. When our friend went to Malawi she didn’t get anything and didn’t even get antimalarials to take. Her husband was surprised because when he went he got all kinds of shots. The government doesn’t require them of visitors but the CDC highly recommends quite a few for Americans who travel to any African country. She has been sick for the last few weeks but says it’s her asthma that is bothering her however I researched Malaria and found that some of the symptoms are the same and you can carry the parasite for up to a year without getting sick. Of course she hasn’t told her doctor where she was, just keeps doing her breathing treatments without getting better. Her friend that lives there came down with it while she was there and then again in January so you know how prevalent it is in that area. Now it’s easily treated and cured but without taking daily medications while in an infected area you can’t really prevent it although they are working on it.

This board lost my log in id and made me make another. Finally got tired of not being able to post. UGH So what do you guys think about this stimulus? I assume TRump is keeping us from going into recession but geez we're already broke and yet it'll be nice to have a little something. And what about those like the Vets or seniors who gets a untaxable income? can they file without a taxable income just to get the stimulas? HMM
On a good note its SPRING and another nice day tomorrow. GOING riding!!LOL

Hi Everyone! So good to see someone here. I've decided to postpone my move to NE until June or July. My townhouse has good equity now but with so many having their hours cut or jobs lost, I don't want it sitting here empty any longer than necessary. I won't list it for showing until I've moved out - too much of a hassle with 2 dogs & 2 cats to risk showing it with them or finding somewhere for them while it's b being shown. I guess that's a risk I'm just going to have to take. Hopefully with the interest rate going down, houses will still be selling. I've got 1 more week off work and am already getting a little nervous about going back even though we don't deal directly with the public. Our floor is secure-you need a special card for the elevator to stop on our floor and stairwell doors need a special code for the keypad. I'm kind of enjoying being home all day with my dogs though! Hope you all are staying safe & healthy!

GR, those on SS or veteran’s benefits still qualify and they already have all of their information. Most payments are electronic these days and they also have their last known address. Is your full crew still working? Are they assigning cleaning to people during the day?
LMM, it’s probably a really good idea to wait to move. People are getting pretty testy about others, from THERE, coming into their areas. I know it’s not a small town you’re going to but people look at license plates now and make an assumption. One guy posted on the local page that he and his family had recently been able to move back here after living out of state. His wife’s rig was having trouble at the local grocery store parking lot. Someone started over to offer assistance and when they saw the out of state plates still on the car turned around and walked away. Not the kind of people we met when we moved here. Everyone was really helpful and nice. Someone from Washington or Idaho came here and bought $500 worth of toilet paper, almost the entire aisle in our small store. People got really mad about that. We don’t have any cases in this county yet but with the people deciding to “vacation “ during this time I’m sure it won’t be too long before we do. I feel kind of sorry for the people who have been brought in to work on a couple of projects here. They have a crew pulling cable for the phone company that is replacing all their old copper wire with fiber optic cable and a large crew will be arriving to replace a local bridge on the highway. These people don’t really have a choice of where they go if they want to work. I think once they’re here they won’t be going back and forth very much with the stay home orders. We haven’t changed our lives much. I did cancel my physical therapy and my follow up visit with the orthopedist until this is over. I don’t feel a 1 1/2 hour drive for a 10 minute meeting in a crowded doctor’s office is worth it. I did ride Winnie a couple of weeks ago for a short time. She wants to run everywhere now so we had to do a lot of turns and I didn’t want to push my luck so it was pretty short, but it was a ride. Now of course it’s raining and/or snowing for the next few weeks.

LMM, I missed something about a move to NE? are you thinking of transferring in your job?
HS, not only our full crew but any OT we want as long as it's on the grocery side and they've hired three groups of people. They told us if we knew anyone send them in that they needed another 30 people. We had twice as many trucks with supplies coming in and we're still getting extra. I think the crazy has slowed a bit, shelves are filling back up finally. Everyone is tired and now we have to enter through the auto bay so we can have our temps taken and they ask us a few questions to make sure we're ok. If we have a temp of 100 we have to go home (paid) until we are fever free for three consecutive days without fever reducing meds.
I hear you about these horses being high strung! spring huh? Rain was a pain and kept pulling away while I was saddling him so I popped him in the butt and he starts rearing and bucking in place with his saddle blanket on which fell in the dirt. UGH then we made two whole laps around the RP and he slipped and slid because the ground is only dry on top so we called it a day. That was Sunday and Mon he got his shoes put on so now at least I can ride on the road except it's rainy and the lightning and thunder is supposed to start in the morn.
Anthony filled out his turbo tax stuff for his stimulus check, he'll get it before me because I chose paper check. LOL it's just going into the bank. Horses=broke!

GR, I'm working for the finance dept. of Pima County. Since I was 61 when they hired me, I'm able to retire after working for 5 years, which was last August. I'm hoping to retire and move to be close to my daughter. I don't have any family in Tucson, but I LOVE the weather here & Tucson in general. Except the crime is getting worse but I think it is doing that no matter where you are. I've got some vision issues and not too comfortable driving (won't drive at night already). Not going to put my house on the market until I've moved since I don't want to mess with finding somewhere for 2 dogs & 2 cats while the house is being shown. I might have to work part-time in Omaha, would really like to find a legitimate work from home job once I get there. I'm off for 2 more weeks starting tomorrow. I used the 80 COVID hours the county gave their employees, went back to work for a week, and now I'm going to use the 80 COVID hours the Feds are reimbursing to the county. Wish my move was closer - I could be using this time to pack
