Well this stay at home stuff hasn’t changed much for us. Most of my shopping is online except for groceries. DH is happy that most places ask that only one family member shop so he doesn’t have to go in. A few things are still in short supply but they did have toilet paper, bleach, and paper towels in stock yesterday. We don’t go out to eat often and our favorite meal is ribs from the resort a few miles away and we usually bring it home to eat anyway. I did cancel my physical therapy and doctor appointment for my shoulder as we didn’t really want to drive to Missoula just for a 5 minute visit. We like to make a full day of shopping if we have to travel that far. There are no cases in our county yet so we don’t want to go where there are some. Montana doesn’t have a lot of cases. Anyone entering from another state is supposed to self isolate for 14 days without going anywhere at all. It applies to residents and nonresidents alike unless the travel is work related. There are several projects going on in the area, one on the railroad and another to replace a bridge on the highway here. Schools will not be reopening this year and it’s all gone to distance learning. We have enough to do to keep us busy at home and lots of places to go where there aren’t any other people. I did order us a couple of masks from the Prayer Pony Foundation in case we go somewhere that requires them. We still have a few N95 masks left over from past fire seasons but they are really hard to wear and the elastic might not last much longer on them. You can add filters to the cloth masks as they have an opening inside for one. Coffee filters are supposed to work well. I have a UV-C wand that can sterilize it after each use. I see a lot of them advertised now. I bought this at Costco a few years ago and it has a large rechargeable wand for home and a smaller battery powered one for travel. LMM, will you stay with your daughter while you look for a new place? It’s so much easier when you have a good base to go house hunting from. We have some more friends from Oregon that may be considering a move up here too. We have offered them our guest apartment to stay in so they can look at their leisure and not rush into something. Our other friends rushed and now they are having to do a lot more work on their house than they planned. They needed something suitable for 2 families for them and his parents and the house they bought really wasn’t. They are adding a kitchenette to the upstairs but have run out of money before they were finished. If they had waited just a bit they could have gotten something more suitable. The parents were too anxious to get a place and pressured their son to get something too quickly. They were all staying here and were welcome to stay as long as they wanted. The parents were in the apartment and our friends were in the RV but when we got the floor finished could have moved upstairs. Some days they really wish they hadn’t moved so quickly.

HS, Yes, I'll be staying with my daughter & SIL. Should be interesting since I have 2 house cats, the Doberman, and a Border Collie X. They have 2 house cats, a Doberman, Chow, and 2 German Shepherds. I'm a little concerned about all the dogs getting along. Hoping my townhouse sells quickly so I can get a place of my own. At least they have a big house & big yard. I'm on my 2nd 80 hour COVID time off. Not sick, but really reluctant to leave the house so since they offered it with full pay I took it! Kind of wish they would lay be off so I could get the extra unemployment plus the regular. That would be about what I make every two weeks anyway. Then when the unemployment ran out I would retire. I've got a follow-up Dr. appointment this morning to review my thyroid & cholesterol lab results. I just looked at the LabCorp results & everything is now normal but I still have to go in to her office. Made a trip to Costco yesterday. They open from 8-9 on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday for Seniors. I got there a little before 7:00 & the line was starting to go around the building already. Thankfully, they opened about 7:20 and by then there were as many people behind me as in front. Still no TP, Clorox wipes, or Kleenex. I still have some left so I guess I shouldn't worry about it yet. I mainly wanted to get some for a friend who is on SS (very obese, asthma, diabetes, etc) & her husband just lost his job so now no insurance. They have an adopted 9 YO daughter with special needs. Going to try Walmart & Fry's this weekend.

GR, what happened to your hand? I probably read what happened, but can't remember Blame it on old age and/or blonde hair! A lady from church made a mask for me with colored jalapeno's on it. I ordered another one on the internet with a picture of a Doberman. I'm a little nervous about going back to work on Monday, but guess I have to. Our department is really short handed right now & the county is cutting the budget right & left so they aren't replacing anyone who leaves. I'm still planning to move to Omaha in July. Really looking forward to it even though I really love Tucson. Just think it is time for a change.

Now I know that Tractor Supply Company is supposed to be a great store but honestly I am not feeling the love. On 03/29/2020 I ordered a chain harrow as we don’t have anywhere local to buy one. My original delivery date was 04/15/2020 which I thought was pretty reasonable. Then I received an email with a new delivery date of 04/04/2020 which was wonderful. It didn’t show up so I rechecked the tracking on it and it wasn’t even in the area yet. Then I got a text message with a new date of 04/11/2020. The tracking showed it was in Missoula so I was hopeful. It didn’t arrive and I checked the tracking again. It just keeps getting loaded and unloaded on a trailer. Now it’s in the warehouse again, with no estimated delivery date. It has been there since 04/07/2020 and no one will contact me. I have tried calling and have sent 2 emails through their website. I have received 2 requests to review my purchase but I haven’t received it yet. Tonight I rated their delivery experience with one star and repeated my problem with my order and their lack of communication. I can’t go buy one somewhere else because they have my money and one of the reasons I ordered from them was to avoid having to drive an hour and a half to look for one. The closest TSC is in Coeur d’Alene , ID and if I went there I would have to do a 14 day isolation when I got home. It’s very frustrating because I really need to harrow the fields now and the longer I have to wait the harder it will get. If this was not frustrating enough I’m having trouble with my pull behind field mower. It has a pull start on the top and the little ears that the bolts go in to hold the top on have broken off. I tried fixing them with JB Weld putty that is supposed to form a new part but it just doesn’t work. We have to try to find someone who can fix it or have to buy a new mower. I don’t know who designed these engines with this crappy metal they used but obviously they have never had to use them.
Well rant over. I hope everyone is staying well. GR I hope your hand is feeling better. Our state is starting to open up again slowly. Still no cases in our county.

Only 2 weeks left to work!!! 3 weeks until moving begins!!! Getting more excited each day, just wish the 20+ hour drive was done. My daughter had mentioned driving straight through, I don't think I'm going to be able to do that plus I don't see well enough to drive at night. I'm going to see Risty next weekend, 1 last time before I move. I still am really happy about his current home, they really love him and he is being ridden more than when I had him. Also, he is perfect for their grandkids for riding while being led. The kids love him too. Darlene kind of apologized to me because she doesn't use the Aussie saddle I gave them that I had used. She said her daughter rides in it but she prefers a western saddle. The last time she used the Aussie it slipped & she fell off and ended up with staples in the back of her head. I told her she needs to ride in what she feels most comfortable & safe with. Got my car already for the trip yesterday, dogs & cats have been updated on shots, now I just need to get cracking on the packing!

After all the trouble I had with my Tractor Supply order of the harrow guess what showed up at my house? Yep the harrow, 3 weeks after I cancelled the order and got a refund. That delivery company doesn’t seem to have any communication with the companies they deliver for or internally. There was never a phone call to tell me they were coming so I don’t know what would have happened if we weren’t home. We accepted it because we hadn’t been able to get one yet and then I had to contact Tractor Supply to pay for it again. I was on the phone with them for 50 minutes to get this straightened out. I had sent an email and they had replied with a reference number and said they had tried to call me but couldn’t get ahold of me. Turns out the reference number was wrong so they hadn’t called me so someone else probably got my call too. Got everything straightened out though. I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. Things here are about the same as they were before all this happened. The local high schools were able to hold graduation ceremonies. They are working on the bridge over the river in town so it is totally closed. There is a detour but it takes an hour to get to the other side of the bridge now 😂. We had friends come to visit and we told them not to come from that direction whatever they did. They called us from the other side of the bridge. Of course they came that way. The bridge will be closed until July 15th. We have found some good fishing spots and they aren’t crowded since very few tourists are coming in. The local motels and RV parks are doing okay because the bridge construction crews are staying there. My flowerbeds and garden are growing like crazy and I need a dozen more horses to help eat down the pastures.

I'm going to see Risty this afternoon! Darlene texted me yesterday & first off said "Risty is ok", but I had to trailer him to the vet Thursday afternoon. His sheath area was very swollen & he was very uncomfortable. They ran blood work & he is back home & eating & drinking and the swelling is going down. He's not even mine anymore & I am still worried, but I know he is in a good home. The countdown begins! Only 4 days left to work - actually more like 3 1/2. I have my exit conference Thursday morning & I think I will be cleared to leave after that. Going to get my desk cleaned out Monday & Tuesday so I don't have so much to carry at once. I talked to my daughter last night & now they (she & her husband) are thinking we should take 2 or 3 days to drive to Omaha instead of trying to drive straight through. Yay!!! It will be more of a hassle getting the cats & dogs in & out of the car & I'll have to find motels that allow pets, but I just don't think I could have made the 20+ hour drive all at once. I got my house listed yesterday. It won't go live on MLS (only in coming soon status now), until I'm out & I've hired a professional cleaner to come in on 7/13. Realtor is having the photographer come on the 15th. I'm pretty excited, just hope it sells quickly. All prayers & good thoughts for the trip & house sale will be appreciated.

Yesterday I took Whitey on a ride to our lower pasture. She had never been down there before. DH and Winnie went too. Winnie has been down there several times and loves to run through the pasture. We kept them to a walk as the grass is belly high on them. Whitey was really good but my arms still got tired from having to hold her back so often. I even got her to go right down to the creek and take a close look at it. This was the longest ride I’ve had since I hurt my shoulder and it went well. She didn’t even get upset when DH and Winnie left us after we got back up to the main pasture. We just walked and trotted around the big flat open area.

LMM, glad your trip was easy on the animals and yourself. Finding a room that allows dogs was always hard and we always just hid the ferrets. LOL So are you going house hunting soon or waiting till your home sells? I wonder how this economy is on home buying? I sprained all the tendons from wrist to fingers and wrist to arm. Was beside Rain and popped him on the butt because he was refusing to move and he yanked the bridle and his head to the right and my wrist took the hit. I broke my 5th metacarpol in High School and am thinking some of the pain is arthritis? Still aches but is almost back to full motion.
HS, glad you are getting lots of riding in, it's been upper 90's here so I go out till I'm parched and covered in sweat then come in for a few hours. Sat I put the fence up in the fruit orchard area and put the boys out. The clover is bad this year so they have the slobbers this morn. Grass is almost to Boomers belly since Marty broke the wheel on the Kobota! He broke lots of stuff. Glad he's gone.
I had to take an ADA to my doctor this morn she won't be in till tomorrow but she'll have to fill out the paper to release me from wearing a mask at work, then they will allow me to wear a face shield. I ordered three masks with the vents in them so we'll see what is easiest to work with. This is all BS, I think if you want to wear them you should and if not then you shouldn't be forced. If masks really worked then you wouldn't need me to wear mine. Besides if Corona stays in the air and on things for two wks then my clothes and shoes and everything not wiped with sanitizer would contaminate me whether I wore one or not right?
Okay so my farrier moved to Illinois and I took the boys back to Amos. I like his trims so much better but it takes so much longer since today he had to stop and sell two puppies to two guys who came from Branson then he asked me to run his mare over to David (my amish neighbor and Amos' brother) to have her impregnated by Davids new stallion while Amos finished the boys. So he had to stop in the middle of shoeing Rain to go catch the mare and when I returned with the mare 30 min later he'd only finished Rain and hadn't started trimming Boomer. I was soaked it was so hot. I'm hoping for an early and extremely long fall.

GR, yep, the animals did really well. We were lucky to find places to stay both nights that were pet friendly. We had planned to stay in OK city one night, but were really tired so stopped about 100 miles South. Really glad we did as that night OK City & Norman area was hit with really bad storms, 80 mph winds & power outages. The Lord was watching out for us! So far the dogs still aren't really getting along so I keep mine in my bedroom with me most of the time. I have to admit it is mostly Sophie's fault. She wants to play and starts chasing the other 3 girls and one of the GSD's gets scared & starts screaming. Not being attacked, no contact made. Waiting for my daughter's Chow to put Sophie in her place. He is kind of protective of "his girls". We still watch all of the closely when they are together. My house was on MLS for 2 days and I've received several offers. Accepted the first & it is now contingent on inspection & appraisal. Hoping everything moves along quickly. There still isn't much housing inventory available in Tucson. I want to get it sold before the election in case the housing market tanks. Maybe I'll be able to buy relatively cheap if it does. Part of me thinks the pandemic will dramatically decrease after the election, but who knows. Trying to rise above a lot of the negative comments on FB, I should just stay off it completely, but that's probably not going to happen.

Well I had a big long post and it disappeared. GR, Whitey tore herself up 2 days after I rode her and she is just about healed now. We got another horse from the vet that is recovering from a cut heel and is currently lame. I haven’t had a chance to ride since. Who was Marty? Was he someone your SF hired to help around the place? I hope your arm heals up soon. The face shield should be much easier to breathe with. I have one we used for using the saws since it protected both your eyes and breathing. We do have to wear a mask inside buildings now but we have some of the cooling neck gaiters we wear for fishing that we can wear if we want. LMM, I’m very glad the drive was uneventful. The dogs will eventually work it out. Are you out in the suburbs or in the city? What kind of place are you going to look for? I always have liked looking at houses. At one time I used to go to open houses with a realtor friend to check them out. I broke a tooth Friday and had a terrible toothache over the weekend. I got into a dentist yesterday and with the fillings, crack, and location of the tooth we decided the best course was to pull it. It was the last tooth on the lower right and I know how much trouble I have with crowns on the last tooth. The one opposite it I broke 3 porcelain crowns and lost the gold one he finally put in. I haven’t had any problems with it missing the crown so it can stay that way. He was a very nice dentist and there was very little pain. But then last night I started vomiting although I hadn’t eaten anything. I hope I don’t end up with dry socket. I apparently have very strong roots and bone and he had to break it apart to get it out. Today my jaw is sore but not where the tooth was, just the joint and general area. We found a really cool fishing spot just a mile or so from the house. The guy across the highway that owns a huge ranch allows people to use his property. We can even ride the horses there. The creek that runs through here enters the lake on his place and there’s an awesome perch and bass hole right from the shore. We took our kayaks down there the other day but fishing from them is more difficult. We can do at least as well right from shore. We will probably explore more with the kayaks but probably land and fish from shore. Almost have our boat ready, had to get a new fish finder as we packed the other one so well we can’t find it. Had to send for a replacement title for the boat to change it to Montana and have to have the VIN number on the trailer inspected since Oregon didn’t title or license trailers that size. Also have to have that done on our little utility trailer. Fortunately the licenses will be permanent. We only have one vehicle that didn’t qualify for a permanent license and it will when we have to renew it this year. I will be so glad to be done with that.

Well we might be adding 2 more horses to the herd. Two Nez Perce bred Appaloosa mares. They are 24 years old and their owner needs to find a new home for them because of his own health. This is a friend of another friend and he is on a Reservation in South Dakota. My friend was sharing his request and asked me if we would be interested. I’m not sure they can be ridden, 1 might be okay. DH likes to just walk them around with him and play with them so that’s fine. Fancy is moving better and tonight we were walking past and she trotted over just to greet us. They had already been fed and we had nothing with us so it wasn’t to beg for a treat. She is happy to be petted and loved on and seems to realize we are trying to help her. Sage on the other hand is almost dangerous. She has lost all her sense of personal space and doesn’t even seem to remember the routine for feeding. She is placed in the RP because she receives more than the others and they would chase her off her pan as soon as they were done with theirs. For quite a while now she would head to it when we came out to feed and would go in the gate and wait for us. Now she keeps gowing back and forth between the RP and the tack room and even if she goes in the pen she comes back out. She swings her head around and just about knocks you down. Leading her to the RP is not a fun thing. These are the girls that may be joining us.

They are really pretty. Do you think all the changes may be harder on her? plus having to fight for a place in the pecking order can be brutal. Boomer bit my finger today, I was feeding him melon rind and I think he was upset that Rain was being a two year old PITA! No damage he stopped biting down when I hollered. LOL
I need to get a check up at the dentist but I HATE the dentist! and there is nothing worse than a tooth ache. I can not use that numb it stuff, its just too nasty. I may start fishing with Anthony he went out a couple wks ago. It's too dang hot to ride.
That must be hard on the dogs being cooped up. Do they have a fenced yard? So are you going to get a place with horse pasture? if it's like WY you don't need much land at all, an acre? and horses are cheap in WY. You could adopt from the BLM maybe a foal? Good luck on the closing hope it goes well. I found out a friend is moving, they sold their home and found one they want and everything is on contingent.
Okay not so short...Marty and his whole family went to church with us awhile back, then the pastor sold his house and the church was on the same property so that's why we now go to Bolivar. Marty helped build the first pasture when the horses were delivered here along with the old pastor, and SF and Matt. So shortly after he got in some trouble with his parole officer and ended up back in prison for steeling his old bosses trailer. He claimed his boss owed him money and refused to pay him. And that the trailer although found on their property was a coincident. YEAH
So we haven't seen any of them for 5 yrs or so. So a couple months ago Marty his mom and SF show up on the doorstep and give Mom and Jim a sob story about how he was staying at her sisters in Springfield but his life was in danger, he was shot at twice. Needs a place to pitch his tent, will help Jim with the chores etc. So his mom says to him go get your stuff from the truck and now we got him and his GF living here which mom and Jim feel like they got suckered into. They never said a word about a gf!
So every evening they get drunk and have knock down fights, they move their tent to the barn right in the way of everything and he slits all the walls with a knife during a fight and now they can't move out of the barn. Anthony paid him to take down a wooden deer stand and he turns it into a shower for him to use with the hose, it's some dilapidated junk with pieces of tarp on top. So when you walk next to the garage there's shampoo and razors and garbage all over the ground, you walk to the barn and there are hundreds of cigarette butts and over a dozen empty booze bottles, old food, wrappers all strewn everywhere. GF gets strangled and we have to drive her into Springfield to get rid of her... so a couple days later he gets hired as a horse trainer, gets bucked off first day and the guy gives him a second chance the next day where he gets bucked off again. So he's gone all day and next morn he's sitting in a chair in the barn doorway with a huge 120lb white dog. Mom said NO WAY! And I told her I was going to go tell him to call the people and have them come get their dog. Diesel had been run over like 2 wks earlier and is still healing.
So I went out and told him get it off the property ASAP, so he comes home at dusk with some skinny dude in a truck that, according to mom said "I like Dicks." LOL We thought he was staying with this new guy who he supposedly told Marty he needed some work done in his house. So we assumed that's where he was till Marty's mom called and told them that he was in a campground in Bolivar and had a fever and was sick and would they Please take him to the hospital? They did and when they dropped him off told him don't bother calling for a ride back, lose the number. His mom lives in Kansas and his probation is here. And he was back in prison for molesting a child and had an ankle monitor on which he cut off a few days after moving in.
He had some sores on his butt when he was here and they said he had staff infection, the antibiotic they gave him won't work if he's drinking like he is. Then we found out after he left all the things he broke.
1 The DR trimmer, $3500 and he ran over rocks and stumps, I asked him if that thing would go oer those and he said oh yes sometimes he has to put the belt back on. It now needs a part and needs welded back together.
2 he took the chain saw apart, we assume its broke too.
3 The Kubota tractor/mower which mom told him was $11,000 and if it broke we'd have to move cause we couldn't afford another one for a place this size.
4 I paid him to put a new floor in the horse trailer, he broke my escape door and then turned it into a place to pile garbage, old food, dirty clothes etc.
5 Jims tools, a couple power tools and some hand tools. Left wheel barrows out in the pasture and it'll take till spring to find everything he left somewhere it didn't go. Oh and he told Jim he could fix something with the AC and not only did he have to take it to the mechanic but he broke a part trying to fix Jims truck. Mom and Jim are all kinds of pissed. Marty's mom called mom three times after the hospital thing and mom refused to answer the phone.

GR, it seems like trying to help people always ends badly. The neighbor we had hired to lay a concrete pad at our old place in Oregon started out doing a good job but started drinking earlier and earlier as it progressed. He’d be drunk and tell us what he needed one night and then the next day it wasn’t the right stuff and why did we get that? By the time it was done we just wanted him done and to go away and stay away. He would get loud and brag more the drunker he got. And of course he had to have his son help him and this was the one who was making all his beer runs for him since he couldn’t drive because of too many DUIs. Of course the son didn’t have a license either but he had a truck and drove anyway. That whole family has a real problem with having driving licenses. It really makes you not want to help anyone. Glad you were able to get rid of them. I hope you are able to get everything fixed that he broke. I had to replace the motor on our pull behind field mower after the pull start broke off the motor. It was much cheaper than buying a new mower that’s for sure.
